SkateBoard Struggle
By Hector

SkateBoard Struggle, a book by Jake Madox, tells a story about how Evan is a skateboarder. He likes to skate but his family doesn't allow him to skate because his brother broke his arm skating one time.

Evan doesn't listen to his parents but he is good at skating. He goes with his friend to the skate park and Evan uses his friend's board. Evan can do an eggplant.

When I started to read this book I thought it was great. It's awesome because I like to skate and so does the character. But, I wish I could do what Evan can do.

I recommend this book for anyone that likes skating.

SKATEBOARD STRUGGLE

Evan is usually at the skatepark or at home reading magazines in his room. And he likes to go at the skatepark just before dinner and gets back at late dinner time.

Evan is the main character in this story, he loves skateboarding and is pretty dang good at it, he lives with his grandma who speaks japanese but Evan doesn't know japanese so he never understands what his grandma is saying. He loves skateboarding all the time with his friends at the skatepark.

Evans brother broke his leg skateboarding so now mom and dad don't allow his family to skateboard. But evan sneaks to the skatepark and hopes never to get caught. He has to share his friend's skateboard and protection pads. Evan enters a skating competition and ends up seeing his family in the stands. Evan doesn't know what to do, But he got caught and will never be able to skate again an will be grounded for awhile

This story I give an 8 out of 10 because it's a short entertaining story and I really like the conflict of it. Every page is entertaining and I want to keep on reading and reading.

As someone who grew up in a town where skateboarding was illegal and their mom forbid them from owning a skateboard... I could relate a bit too much.

(And let's forget about the time when my mom caught me in the street attempting some tricks and took your board and threw it in the garbage.)

A fun quick read with my kids (and I can fib and pretend I was a really talented 'boarder than I really was all those decades ago).
