What thoughts flood our minds when we think about God? Do we think of Him as King? If so, what kind of King? In this book Mike Abendroth seeks to address a twofold most Christians do not consider God as any type of Monarch, and, if they do, they think about monarchs that are weak rather than reflecting on the utter Lordship of God, the ultimate King. In Part 1, Mike Abendroth demonstrates that the whole Bible reveals God as King. In Part 2, he describes the life-changing implications that flow from that revelation. Filled with insightful quotations, worshipful hymns, and thoughtful study questions, this book helps us to biblically embrace God as our King.
Mike Abendroth serves as pastor of Bethlehem Bible Church in Massachusetts and graduated from The Master’s Seminary (MDiv) and Southern Seminary (DMin). He hosts the daily broadcast No Compromise Radio and is an adjunct professor at Southern Seminary.
Excellent book on sovereignty of King Jesus. Very Biblical and very well ordered and put together. It provides you a high view of Jesus with no fluff. I highly recommend this book
A book that gets you to appreciate what the Bible says about Jesus as King in both his transcendancy, matchless beauty, power, holiness, rule and sovereignty, and his mercy, nearness, compassion and love. The depth given to the former helped me appreciate the latter even more. I found the chapter on prayer (entering God's throne room) and preaching (heralding) particularly helpful.
