The Talkative Tree

Rate this book
Steward Peter Kolin made himself inconspicuous.

All things considered -- the obscure star system they were stranded in, the undetermined damage to the stellar drive, and the way the small planet's murky atmosphere defied precision scanners -- the pilot made a reasonably good landing. Despite sour feelings for the space service of Haurtoz, Kolin had to admit that things might have been far worse.

They were going to get worse. Much, much worse . . .

🖊 My review: Here we read about a group of astronauts who happen to come upon a strange alien life. I found this story well written, but slow in its presentation.
✔️Published in Worlds of IF, January 1962.

Old fashioned sci fi from a pulp magazine.

A short sci fi story from the pulp market. Mr Fyfe participated in Ww2 and then wrote stories for the pulp market. This one is about a vast alien intelligence.
