3.5 stars. Solid first issue. Starts off with a brawl with Titania. The reconciliation they come to after was pretty cool. So this book is showing where Jennifer is now. After rolling with the Avengers, being 5 times bigger than she normally is, the whole world war she-hulk, now she just trying to start over. Curious to see where this goes.

Marvel’s Jennifer Walters is about to get her own solo series for the first time in years, thanks to She-Hulk #1. Rainbow Rowell, Roge Antonio, Rico Renzi, VC’s Joe Caramagna all lent a hand in bringing this latest series to life.

One of the best parts about Marvel’s slew of new series is that it is creating new levels of hype. This, in turn, gives fans rare opportunities: such as brand-new series focused on characters we know and love. Take the most recent Marvel Disney+ series, which undoubtedly helped launch a new five-issue Hawkeye: Kate Bishop series.

Now? Now is the time of Jennifer Walters. AKA, She-Hulk. She-Hulk #1 brings the sensational character many know and love to the forefront and does so with style. It’s actually quite impressive, creating a series compelling to long-standing fans while still welcoming to new audiences.

Jen’s life has been full of ups and downs as of late…okay, that is probably the understatement of the century. She’s been put through hell and back, and now it is time for her to once again find her footing.

A further lesson in expectations. Had none going into this re-intro #1. What an absolute delight! The art was spot on, crisp, brilliant, kinetic during the action, expressive faces, and iconic full pages do this kickoff justice with big kudos! The writing was clever, humorous, compassionate, and most of all real. You quickly fall for these genuine characters and understand their respective POVs in such a short book. And, variant covers galore. There is something for everyone here. I am on board!

I'm so excited to see Jen back. I love her character and this whole, getting back on your feet plotline is very relevant in this day and age. The world building was good, just easing us in. I really can not wait for more.

First She-Hulk comic, and barely any knowledge of marvel (I've only read Black Cat, and the White Fox issues). I saw some of the covers for this series, and they looked great, so I decided to give it a try.
I'll admit I got a bit scared when I saw the writer, as the type of books she usually write aren't my cup of tea.

Like the cover, the art of this issue is really good. I especially love her she-hulk form, how can someone look so pretty while being bright green? It works really well. Not all panels have the same quality, which is expected, but the pretty ones are really pretty.

The characters were super interesting, especially Titania. Her fight with She-Hulk was fun, and their conversation made a lot of sense. I also really loved her line: Why is it, Walters, that you keep reinventing yourself and landing on your feet, and I keep landing on my face. I just thought that was a really good one, and I loved it. I'd like to see them becoming kinda friends.

The plot is very meagre at the moment, but also a very interesting take, and I'm looking forward to see what Rowell will do with it. There were a few very cheesy moments and lines (especially in the non-spoken text) that I wasn't a fan of.

I'm pretty sure that this comic will have way more impact on people that are already a fan of She-Hulk, but it was definitely a very good start, and makes me excited to read more. I'm probably going to find time to read the other two issues today, and I hope it will keep it's quality (and as I learn more background my rating would probably go up too, if the quality doesn't go down xD)

This issue makes me want to read a lot more issues. I think I should run back and read the previous runs, too. Looking forward to this series!

Good for a first issue, and has a recurring character from the dan slott series and also the reintroduction of an old rivalry, it is a bit uneventful until a cliffhanger, but since its a first issue on a character I have alot of nostalgia for I will only knock off 1 star.

É literalmente a MESMA Jennifer Walters.

Boring beginning and the art isn’t great (the covers are beautiful however). Don’t think I’ll continue this series.

A great start to a new She-Hulk run by Rainbow Rowell, and a return to classic She-Hulk form while also moving things forward.

She-Hulk is starting over. Again. When hasn't she had to rebuild her life from the ground up all over again? But now after leaving the Avengers, she's no longer savage and is returning to her law career alongside superhero duty! Rowell re-establishes a life for She-Hulk in Volume 1, bringing back now classic characters from the Dan Slott run of She-Hulk, Mallory Book and Awesome Andy! It's great to see these two back along with other She-Hulk staples, Patsy Walker A.K.A. Hellcat, Titania and Volcana, The Thing, and a new love interest Jack of Hearts! (Plus other characters, and new villains! That last part's important, especially since aside from Titania She-Hulk has never really had her own villains.)

Yes, I know the first five issues are slow for some, but this is absolutely my cup of tea! Fun almost romance comic style adventures, the day to day, and gradual build time for character and plot! Rowell tells a more long-term style story which can be risky for comics, but pays off much more satisfyingly for me personally allowing us to have a stronger narrative overall and see growth for Jennifer Walters as she navigates this new territory.

Cannot recommend enough! If you're a fan of She-Hulk, Rainbow Rowell's writing or her previous work with Marvel on Runaways, or looking for a fun new comic to read you need to pick this one up! And try to get the latest monthly issues from your local comic store while you're at it too.

I wasn't sure if I liked this at first. I grabbed it off the shelf because I have a lot of DC comics going, so I wanted to add in some more Marvel and because the cover immediately caught my eye. I love She-Hulk in Captain Marvel's series, and I wanted to learn more about the character. So, I started it and wasn't sure where it was going. There's a summary on the title page that explains where this series picks up, but I still felt sort of thrown into things. Then, it picked up, and there's some good humor in here and good storytelling. I like Rowell's writing so far. The ending is a strong cliffhanger. I've already started issue #2, and I like it better so far, but that'll come in the next review!

I love when Jen Bartel does the cover art of an issue, it's so pretty! I thought this was a fun first issue, but I wouldn't say it captured my attention.

Jennifer Walters appears to be starting over (I haven't kept up with She-Hulk, so I'm not sure from what). Jennifer dukes it out with a supervillain and finds an extra room to stay in thanks to Wasp. As Jennifer unwinds after a long day, she's visited by someone from her past.

I don't know enough about She-Hulk to know her entire back story. I do think this is a good issue to start with if you're not an all-knowing fan of She-Hulk. I would give this series a shot as I think the story does have potential.

This is my first Marvel comic (there, I said it) and I really enjoyed myself. The art and colouring were beautiful. Jennifer feels entirely genuine, in so small part to the presentation and accessibility of her everyday life. I enjoy that she's proactive. There are problems, but they're met with minor solutions or improvements. It's a smart storytelling choice because it removes the tension of misery in what should be a fun comic. Within so few pages, I feel I already have a grasp of Jennifer, Mary/Titania, Mallory and Janet/Wasp. This feels like a success. Looking forward to discovering more about the 'formerly dead'.

"Jan. No. The problem is no one carries my size." Me talking to any of my friends who are below a size 16.

I'm really loving the pops of colour on the cover and future covers. I'm very excited about this run. I've also never read a She-Hulk story but I've heard that her previous writings since Civil War II have been iffy so I think Rowell is a fantastic author to look after She-Hulk. Though I've read her novels before, so I'm a bit worried she's gonna write Jennifer as mary sue/pick me girl like previous character's she's created. Very excited for future titles!!!

A big start for a small issue.

She hulk is reinventing herself, again. This first issue she gets a new job, her old clothes and starts a fight club. I liked the issue and thought it was a decent start, but this series might be better as a volume….
Love the art and the character designs. Decent cliff hanger at the end.

I’m not going to lie, I have almost no experience with any other She-Hulk comics. But you must start somewhere, right?

I picked this one up because I love Marvel and I love Rainbow Rowell. I also love women superheroes.

Not a lot really happens in this first issue. We’re introduced to Jennifer Walters, A.K.A. She-Hulk, and learn that she’s trying to start her life over. She’s settling into a new job, she’s a lawyer, and a former rivalry is rekindled. Oh! It does end on a cliffhanger involving another character I’m not familiar with.

It’s all good though because this seems like it’s going to be a fun read over the next few months! I am definitely looking forward to future issues.

Great start to this run, love the vibe and the art fits it perfectly. That page turn to her hulking out was fantastic. Little iffy about the last page reveal but we'll see how it plays out in this Fantastic Four event

The Jennifer Walter's starting over story seems recycled a bit but yet it still felt fresh. Maybe it's having the "Sensational" She-Hulk back! Whatever it is I'm in all the way.

Really solid first issue. I love this resurgence of Jen Walters and I have read and loved so many novels from Rainbow Rowell in the past. It truly is the perfect mash up of two of my favorite things and it's so good so far.

I don't know that I've enjoyed a She-Hulk run this much since Byrne, and he eventually wore on me. I liked Tamaki's run, but this is more of what I want from this character, and it's funny, and sweet, and grants her proper place in the 616. It looks great, and it has great characters, too.

I'm a little unclear as I don't read all the other marvel heroes so miss some of her story. But this is starting out well.
