I started off reading this book as something of a lark. I knew right away it was not my usual cup of tea. Profane and rife with meaningless sex, but I've been at a weird place in my own life lately with personal issues and I thought maybe it would be good to break out of the usual. I put up with a lot from the book and even dismissed the fact that it's extremely poorly written for the sake of something different. I trudged through to the end because I've had a couple of books lately that I've given up on and I just did not want to do that again. Again, unlike me - I'm a toss that thing, if it doesn't do it for me kind of gal. So . . . . in short - it's awful. Devoid of anything meaningful. There is not a single likable character. No integrity and lots of greed and selfishness. Hated every word.
"MarryAnn Reid's 'Mrs. Big' delves into a tumultuous tale marred by a mother-daughter dynamic rife with toxicity and manipulation.
-The protagonist's mother, a vexing figure, exploits her daughter's success while fostering feelings of inadequacy.
-Loretta, the central character, embodies a sense of insecurity and desperation for validation.
-While the narrative is punctuated with cursing, it caters to a specific audience, albeit at the expense of wider appeal.
-Loretta Hightower's portrayal teeters on the edge of discomfort, evoking unsettling parallels to high-end escort services.
-With trigger warnings peppered throughout, 'Mrs. Big' hints at a promising thriller but falls short of delivering on its potential. Its characters navigate a moral void, leaving readers disenchanted and disconnected.
-The plot lacks substance, culminating in an unsatisfying conclusion devoid of any discernible lesson.Ultimately, 'Mrs. Big' fails to redeem its unlikable characters and flat ending, leaving readers questioning its purpose and impact."
This book was so good, I was able to read it in one day. The stories that Basket Ball players wives can tell will blow your mind. I comes with headaches, misery, money and a high living lifestyle. According to this story, Loletta had to find herself after being married to a player. Money and Fame can not buy everything to make you happy.
