Wow, this author is so talented and amazing and beautiful and stunning. I myself can tell how fun and love she put into this story. I cannot wait for there to be more from her 😊 wow. Just amazing. Much wow. Much fantasy.
This book was like House of earth and blood and city of bones combined! Loved it! Such a great read didn’t disappoint… great authors. Way better than the last books I’ve been reading. Great ending

"Long may I reign" Estrella is one badass fmc! Damn, she is not one to be messed with, as Faris says "You are Estrella, you are a sassy smartass with so much confidence it's insane, but very much well deserved. And you have a caring heart. There is nothing wrong with that, it makes you human"
If you love supernatural and Lucifer, then this is the book for you ! This is such a fun read about Mediums, Angels, Demons, and the war that they currently face, such a unique story! 😈👹😇 We all love a good friendship group and this is definitely a found family situation 🥰
"she was Estrella De León, Queen of LA, and could do whatever the fuck she pleased." Yass Queen 👑
In Between Horns and Wings is the perfect book for anyone who loves a good angels vs. demons story with a unique twist.
The badass FMC Estrella is a medium, half demon and half human, expected to follow in her father’s footsteps as the Demon King of Los Angeles. However, she has no intention of doing so, and instead, decides to use the current war between angels and demons to ally with their sworn enemies, the angels, in order to usurp him.
This book gives Supernatural, mixed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes as a contemporary urban fantasy. The story revolves around Estrella on her journey to betray her father, discover the depths of her power, and form an army. I really enjoyed her close-knit mix of friends - demons, humans, angels, and mediums - reluctantly working together for the greater good.
I also enjoyed the PG-rated flirtation and slight romance between Faris and Estrella, but hoped there would be more development there, or possibly between Estrella and Beelzebub, the general currently leading Hell.
Overall, this book is a fast paced read with plenty of witty banter to keep it entertaining. I enjoyed the chosen one and found family tropes, and the cliffhanger ending was a great touch.
Thank you @sunnybabepr for sending me this ARC in exchange for my review.
PLEASE NOTE: This review is based off of overall content and story alone. I did not rate it based off of editorial and grammatical issues.
This was a really enjoyable read! Perfect for spooky month, with its cast of demons, demon bodyguards, guardian angels, and mediums. A war between angels and demons is brewing, and our sassy main character has been given a task. She’s a medium, which means she’s more closely allied with demons (hence her demon bodyguard), but she has to befriend an Angel to get the scoop/any heads up about the upcoming ethereal war. Also she eats demons! By absorbing them, it adds to her life and power. The Hispanic representation in this book was also amazing!! I love being able to relate to a character in a book (no I don’t eat demons) lol
Thank you Sunny Babe PR for the opportunity to read this one!
i was excited for this book when i got it, but soon realized it was different than i expected. while the beginning was slow, around the halfway mark i became invested and had to know what was next. the FMC is a strong and independent girl who had to do what was right. i loved that about her and that she didn’t let any man hold her down. thank you sunnybabepr for this early copy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This book was such a fun read and the banter is super funny and made it so much more enjoyable! (Swipe to see some of my favorite lines) This was so much different than any books I’ve read before, the whole demon angel war is such a unique book topic and i love it! The cover is also absolutely gorgeous i cannot get over how pretty it is😫😫 I would totally recommend this book for anyone looking for a different kind of fantasy to read:)
This was such a cool urban fantasy read! With bad ass characters, Hispanic representation, twists and turns, drama, slow burn…. Did I mention men with BIG wingspans? Yeah there’s that too. Jasmine is a great writer and a sweet person! You don’t want to miss this read.

Man oh man was I not prepared for the roller coaster this book was going to take me on! Estrella is such a badass heroine who knows what she wants and does everything in her power to accomplish her goals. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the excitement to end but it never does! Jasmines take on angels and demons was an amazing retelling and I can’t wait to experience more of Estrella and her team.
In Between Horns and Wings is available on Amazon in paperback, hardcover or ebook! Thank you @sunnybabepr for the opportunity to read. I can’t wait to buy my physical copy 😍😍
It was an exciting book, badass mc's. Fmc is a strong kickass girl. Plot was good and amazing.
Sometimes it's a bit hard to figure out who's side of the story your reading. Would have been easier if it had the name of the person your reading writing above it.
Congratulations to Jasmine for her novel and a big fat thank you to her and Chloe from Sunny Babe PR for sending me the ARC of the book!
My rating: 3.75 stars

My review: "Long may I reign."
A war between demons and angels gets even more interesting when Estrella de León, daughter of the Demon King of LA and a bounty hunter medium, is tasked with a mission to infiltrate the other side to gain intel. What her father doesn't know is that she's looking for her chance to get her revenge for the years of neglect and abuse, and he just served it to her on a silver platter.
With this premise and the engaging characters, it was easy to assume In Between Horns and Wings was going to be a fantastic read. And though there were a few things that kind of got in the way of it to become an instant favorite, Jasmine really delivered a compelling, nuanced and entertaining story.
I have to agree with those who claim this book is a bit slow at the beginning and that Estrella can be somewhat obnoxious and dislikeable on occasions, but these two things do not demerit the whole story nor make it less interesting. Especially with that ending! OMG!
However, what made me lower a bit my rating is the fact that it was marketed as a slow burn but with some spice in it and there was none. Sure, some things might be blooming there and the author really set up the basis for a future—dare I say—love triangle? But, if like me, you were expecting Estrella and Faris' relationship to go a bit further, then I'm sure you share my frustration.
Lastly, and though it didn't have any impact on my rating and I would still recommend this book, I'd strongly advise a full review and editing process. There were several grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and a constant back and forth between tenses that made some sections hard to follow.
Estrella, black sheep of the medium world is caught between a war of angels and demons. But first, how did she end up here?
Estrella's father is known as the demon king of LA, the city's most powerful medium. But, she doesn't want to follow in her father's footsteps. Instead, rebelling and becoming a demon bounty hunter. Due to the nature of this profession, Estrella is feared in the demon world and considered reckless in the eyes of an angel.
The tides turn and Estrella is used as a mole for the impending war between angels and demons. Her father is expecting intel and well... Estrella does what she wants 🤷🏼♀️ Does she make friends out of her enemies, or enemies out of her friends?
Estrella is the funny, badass, rage filled, morally gray FMC you need in your life! She is 100% 🆃🅷🅰🆃 🅱🅸🆃🅲🅷.
I loved the new spin on the classic angels and demons storyline. This gave off awesome Supernatural vibes! For those wondering, this does not explore angels and demons in the biblical sense- but rather a more modern day take with a lil bit of romance!
While the storyline and world building were out of this world, my absolute most truthful review would be to remove half a star. There were just enough grammatical errors to slow the flow of the book. I debated mentioning this, but it would not be an honest review if I didn't.
Overall, fantastic debut novel, I can't wait for book 2!
(I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review)
As soon as I saw this book had some Hispanic Rep plus angels vs demons and a slow burn I knew I wanted to check it out. This was a fast-paced urban fantasy with non stop action and a great cast of characters. I found Estrella to be a fun character to read from, seeing her challenges of growing up as the Demon Kings daughter in LA while still holding her own and trying to find her own way in life. The world building in this book was fun and presented us with a lot of action packed scenes that were entertaining to read about. This book follows Estrella De León, a medium in LA and daughter of the Demon King. So this has been her job her entire life. She exorcises evil demons from unwilling bodies. But right at the start of the book we find out a war between Angels and Demons is about to break out. Estrella’s father decides she is the perfect person to carry out his plan- pretend to be on the Angels side to gather their secrets and information, and come back to him so that they can defeat them in this war. But Estrella is conflicted and she is caught berween leaving everything she has ever known and risk becoming an enemy of her people or try to befriend her long-time enemies and still risk her life. The stakes were high from the start and it was a lot of fun seeing Estrella navigate this world and this situation without never losing herself.
While this wasn’t a favorite of mine and I did have some issues with the book overall it was still an enjoyable time and if it sounds of interest to you I would still check it out.
The description of this book does not do it justice. This book was full of action, betrayal, twists and turns, and excitement. From start to finish, it held my attention and kept me turning the pages. Estrella is a force to be reckoned with. I normally don’t care for the crass, unfeeling female leads with snarky attitudes, but knowing Estrella’s background you fully understand why she is the way she is. Yet you see glimpses of her softer side and her compassionate heart. She can’t stand the life her father expects her to live, and with a war looming she may finally her chance of making a difference. The characters were amazing! Valentino was a favorite of mine. I love how he’s just a constant presence and source of comfort for her even if she won’t admit it. And Faris was really amazing. I feel like something is developing between him and Estrella so hopefully we may get further a long in their friendship in book 2. Brisa was such an amazing friend for Estrella. Even though Estrella was very prickly, Brisa just kept supporting her and being there for her. These characters really helped smooth out her rough edges, and embrace the fact that it’s ok to feel and have emotions. I loved the growth we see in her throughout this book, and I’m excited to see what’s in store for these characters!
▫️🆂🆈🅽🅾🅿🆂🅸🆂 Estrella de Leon has been a medium her entire life. It's in her blood to deal with the dark and twisted souls of the dead. It’s the family business she had no choice but to inherent. However, as news breaks of a war between demons and angels, Estrella is dragged into this upcoming battle. She is commanded by her father, the demon king of Los Angeles, to infiltrate the angels and find out as much information as she can. An impossible task that could get her killed, but she takes it. Estrella de Leon is then caught between making friends with her longtime enemies and making enemies out of her longtime friends.
▫️🅼🆈 🆃🅷🅾🆄🅶🅷🆃🆂 an unlikely alliance 🤝 witty banter 🤝 super natural vibes. Estrella gives all the bad a$$ main character vibes. she is crass and unapologetically herself. can we talk about brisa, though?? brisa is the kind of friend we all need— she is loyal, she shows up, and she sticks around even if estrella isn’t always the easiest person to be around. estrella has the kind of attitude where it’s her way or the highway and “that sounds like a you problem.” though the beginning took a bit getting into with the worldbuilding, the ending piqued my interest for book 2.
Do you love a strong, independent FMC who chooses to defy her family in order to do what’s right? Then this is the book for you!
Estrella is a total badass medium with a mind of her own & I LOVED watching her interactions with Tino (the demon guard who’s basically radiating golden retriever energy) & Faris (the total cinnamon roll of an Angel).
Brisa (100% human) is the best “best friend to the guarded FMC” & I love how she loves and trusts her bestie unconditionally. Legit CRIED at Brisa’s heartfelt tattoo for Estrella!
An incredibly engaging modern fantasy focusing on the war between Angels & Demons (and mediums). I absolutely ADORED the author’s expansion into the mystical and magical elements of her characters.
Rather than your standard “Enemies to Lovers” trope, Jasmine Para gives readers an incredible “Acquaintances-At-Best to Friendship” story with Estrella and Faris (and I’m totally obsessed).
Notes: • The book started off slow (but very quickly picks up). • The changing POVs were hard to keep up with (though easy to keep up with once you realized which POV you were reading from). • Some grammatical/spelling errors throughout the story.
A gripping urban fantasy filled with demons, angels, mediums and a morally grey FMC, Estrella.
'Live, laugh and love a sassy bitch'.
Estrella's father is the Demon King of LA, however Estrella is a demon bounty hunter - not wanting to follow in her father's footsteps. With a war between Angels and Demons on the horizon, Estrella is asked to get intel.. but will she go along with this plan, or switch sides.
𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 A gripping urban fantasy with a strong, independent and sassy FMC, hints of romance, and angels and demons... including a certain Beelzebub making appearances.
The friendship Estrella has with Brisa was adorable - Estrella grew up in a strict regime environment with grueling training, meaning friends were never at the top of her list. I also loved seeing Estrella's friendship with her demon guard, Valentino, alongside the love/hate relationship between her and Faris - Brisa's angel.
'She was Estrella, would always be Estrella. And in the end, she could he whoever the fuck she wanted'.
Overall, this was a strong start to the series! Thank you to Sunny Babes PR for this copy, this review is voluntary.
Thank you to sunny babe pr and Jasmine Parra for a copy to read and write my review.
I was super excited to read this book because I have not read a fantasy book about Angels vs Demons (at least not that I can recall). The way that both the demons and angels were presented was very interesting to me and I loved the addition of Mediums. This was not angels & demons in a religion aspect but a more modern day twist, which I loved. II am also a sucker for a strong FMC with an amazing BFF.
I think the beginning was slow and took a minute for me to get into it, but as the story progressed I was fully immersed and wanted to know what was going to happen and how it was going to end. I loved the world building - which is super important for me.
But, there were some reasons why I did have to knock down some stars and give it a .5 rather a 4. (Y'all know I am a honest reviewer!)
It was hard to remember who's POV you were reading from at times as the title didn't tell you nor was there a change in font that could've helped you realize either. Also, there were a looot of grammatical errors that were distracting and ruined the flow of the book at times.
I am looking forward to book 2 and hoping that the author has made some positive changes because I do think this series could be a 4-4.5 series with some minor changes!
This urban fantasy book is focused on Estrella, who came from a powerful family of mediums. Mediums act as the bridge or middle ground between demons and the bodies they possess. She was forced to join an impending war and is now trapped between demons and angels. Commanded by her father to spy on the angels, lines started to blur as to how or who she'd choose.
The beginning was straightforward. Estrella’s life was immediately introduced. It had short chapters and was in 3rd person, but I still quite enjoyed reading it. Although it took a few chapters before the plot progressed, including the romance, it was worth it. Estrella is an interesting character, and like she said, “She wasn’t born into anything else but this life, and so she did the best with what she had.” I really liked that quote!
You don’t want to miss this if you enjoy reading about demons and angels in the modern setting.
Rating: ★★★★☆
Thank you, Sunny Babe PR and to Jasmine Parra for the copy in exchange for an honest review.
Estrella is a medium, meaning her job entails dealing with demons everyday. A war is brewing between demons and angels. She is commanded by her father, the medium king of LA, to infiltrate the angels, aka the enemy, and find out information.
She's not a normal medium though. Estrella is demon bounty hunter, taking care of the demons who take things too far. Not a true ally to the demons, she's able to connect with the angels easier than others might. Estrella will soon have to decide which side of the war she will be on.
As first book to the series I think the author did amazing world building. Interested to see where Estrella and the rest of the groups story goes from here. If you're a fan of Lucifer and The Mortal Instruments, then I think you might like this.
One downside is that I got distracted by the typos throughout the entire book since there were quite a lot. If the typos weren't there it would probably be 4 stars.
Thank you Sunny Babe PR for sending me this ARC in exchange for my review.
This is my first time reading something from Jasmine and I have to say, I was not disappointed!! This book brought me back to the Supernatural days, and as someone who loves that show with every fiber in my being, I love this book too! To summarize:
Our morally grey FMC, Estrella, is a medium, half demon and half human (which I love). Everyone basically expects her to walk in daddy’s footsteps as as the Demon King of Los Angeles… except she, has no plan on doing such thing. Estrella does the opposite by allying herself with her dad’s enemies. We follow her as she tries to destroy her father by forming an army, usurping him and discovering her true powers.
I will give credit where it’s due.. well done Jasmine! I truly enjoyed reading Estrella’s journey. Oh and an applause for the Latino/Hispanic representation!! This Latina reader’s heart was made whole!

please note: this book does end in a cliffhanger!

Thank you to the author and @sunnybabepr for a copy of this book to review.
A fantasy slow burn Angels vs Demons with a fantastic Morally Grey Hispanic FMC called Estrella.
I really like this one, much more than I thought I would. The book was action packed and well paced, it started off a little slow but soon i wasnt able to put it down. Set in modern day America it didn't have to do a huge amount of world building. This meant there was plenty of time for character development, and I felt really connected with Estrella.
The romance was a sub plot and a small part of the book, which I always think is better in a fantasy book, this was very well paced and had a very good original story.
Tropes: 📚 One Bed 📚 Grumpy x Sunshine 📚 Enemies to lovers
I can't wait to get stuck into the rest of the series once it's released.
I really love a good modern fantasy and this book has a lot of what I enjoy but focuses on Angels, Demons and Mediums as the main types of characters in the book. Our FMC Estrella is a medium who can speak to both Demons and Angels and I love her sassy, strong personality. Brisa is the cute best friend. Valentino is her Demon guard who is as loyal as a puppy and Faris is the reluctant cinnamon roll Angel that I loved!
This is more of an Acquaintance to Friends story than Enemies to Lovers but overall I loved the setting, the characters and the plot and will definitely read Book 2. There were a lot of spelling mistakes and it was tough at the start to keep up with whose POV it was but it got easier after a while. There is also no spice in this book, if that is a factor you base what you read on.
Okay. Well this book kind of hit a lot of my favorite things and what I enjoy about books. There’s this world of magic, of course. But it also has a morally grey FMC who is a demon hunting medium, that kills demons by literally sucking their essence out of them. Like, how amazing is that? It also talks about angels, Lucifer, God and other demons, in this never ending war between a balance of good and evil. Balance is my word, but essentially, who is going to take over the earth we occupy.
What kind of reader is going to like this? Any Supernatural fan. Anyone who enjoys the SPN universe of the Winchesters, good and evil, angels versus demons, main character is gonna throw a wrench into fate kind of plot. Of course, if you enjoy Lucifer Morningstar on Netflix, yeah, this would be up your alley too. Oh, slow burn, PG rated romance in there. It’s cute.
I’m looking forward to book 2. I want to see how Estrella continues in her journey. And how the other female character comes back, if she does (they don’t die just unsure what happens with her).

The FMC in this book captivated my interest. It's a story set unexpectedly between demons and angels with gripping exploration of alliances, betrayals, and friendship. One of the standout aspects of this book is its skillful characterization. And the plot was very good and exciting!
All in all I truly love this book, my first urban fantasy book with a lot of banter between the characters that makes you feel along.
Thank you @court_ofjasmine for such a great read!

✨Estrella is a medium whose mission is to stop a war from happening but she has to choose a side between the angels and the demons.✨
tropes: Hispanic Rep Fantasy Morally Grey FMC Found Family
Estrella is not only a bad ass but a demon soul sucking bad ass. Even though she had a little help Estrella fought tooth and nail to win this battle to save not only the angels but her found family.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen a book with good latina rep so this was such a fun read. I can’t wait to see more from this author and her amazing characters.
This is a first in a series and I can’t wait for the next one.
This was such an interesting read! There were mediums, demons, and angels, but they were so unique! The new take on the mythology was so intriguing.
Estrella is a very strong FMC, and I really enjoyed seeing her growth as she got closer to the people around her. I’m a sucker for a good character arc. Also, that potential romance though 👀
The cliffhanger at the end of this one has me super excited to read more!

Thank you so much to Sunny Babe PR and Jasmine Parra for letting me read this book for an honest review. 💙
In Between Horns and Wings is perfect for supernatural fans. The battle between heaven and hell/angels and demons always makes for an interesting story. This is a fast fun read, with a badass female main character - sarcastic, strong and independent, Estrella takes no BS from anyone - and lots of action. And that cliffhanger? 😮 I can’t wait to find out what happens next! If you like Supernatural and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, you’ll definitely enjoy this.
On a side note, the book could really use a revision as there are quite a few gramatical and spelling errors that detract from the reading experience.
This book was unlike anything I have ever read. I have never fallen in love so quickly with a character like I did with Estrella! She is smart, and a straight badass! She had me laughing out loud sometimes with her wit and humor. She is a strong female lead who lives her life the way she wants to and I truly couldn’t get enough of her.
This was a supernaturally, angels vs demons, urban fantasy that definitely kept me engaged, and Jasmine’s writing style was so easy to read and at times very relatable.
I can’t say thank you enough to Jasmine Parra and sunnybabe for allowing me a copy of this book! I enjoyed it so so much!
I really enjoyed this story of a modern-day war between angels and demons and I loved that the FMC is super sassy. If you love urban fantasy, found family, badass characters, men with BIG wingspans, and slow burn you will really enjoy this book!
My only complaint is that there were a lot of grammatical, spelling, and incorrect word-usage errors throughout the book that definitely took me out of the story and made it difficult to read at times. I hope this gets fixed in the next book because other than that it was a fun read!
This book is available now on Amazon and I’d like to thank Sunny Babe PR for my copy!
