This is a very different book. It tells the story of the battle of Antietam using short narratives to explain the war and events leading up to the Battle and the basic events of bloodiest day. It also has shorter passages from various soldiers who took part in the battle. Finally, it also has many pictures, maps and descriptions of other things relating to the war and to the Battle. It is not just a book to be read through, but one to be absorbed.

Recommend for: Students of Civil War History.
