Keeping a family promise can be the beginning of a whole new life for everyone in town. Taylor Gilford is more than happy to accept her grandmother’s gift of a cottage on the Lilac Lake Inn’s property to be shared with her two sisters, Dani and Whitney. The youngest, she’s always felt left out when the sisters got together. Living at Lilac Lake will give her a chance to know them better. More than that, it might help the “writer’s block” she’s been experiencing and help her recover from a stinging critique by her publisher’s new editor, Thompson C. Walker. After a few successful books in her fantasy series, Taylor can’t allow her career to end without fighting back. As she struggles, she learns a lot about herself and realizes that reading between the lines can bring a lot of happiness. Another of Judith Keim’s series books celebrating love and families, strong women meeting challenges, and clean women’s fiction with a touch of romance—beach reads for all ages with a touch of humor, satisfying twists, and happy endings.
Judith Keim, A USA Today Best Selling Author, is a hybrid author who both has a publisher and self-publishes. Ms. Keim writes heart-warming novels about women who face unexpected challenges, meet them with strength, and find love and happiness along the way, stories with heart. Her best-selling books are based, in part, on many of the places she's lived or visited and on the interesting people that she's met, creating believable characters and realistic settings her many loyal readers love.
She enjoyed her childhood and young-adult years in Elmira, New York, and now makes her home in Boise, Idaho, with her husband and their two dachshunds, Kacy and Wally, and other members of her family.
While growing up, she was drawn to the idea of writing stories from a young age. Books were always present, being read, ready to go back to the library, or about to be discovered. All in her family shared information from the books in general conversation, giving them a wealth of knowledge and vivid imaginations.
Ms. Keim loves to hear from her readers and appreciates their enthusiasm for her stories.
Much like one of the plots in the story, this book could use a lot more editing and revision. What on earth was the publisher thinking? First, you're dropped directly into book two without a lot of info about book one and it's poorly done. It seems like this story is going to be about Taylor, the youngest sister, but instead, it's about all 3 sisters and 1950's stylings of the town. Taylor is described as young and naïve and comes across exactly that way. However, she's already a successful novelist with her own condo in NYC but she's struggling to create characters and a story for a new book that seems more like its a debut. It's as if a whole chapter got edited out.
I wasted my time so you don't have to.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
LOVE BETWEEN THE LINES is the second book in The Lilac Lake Inn series and I can't wait for more. I was welcomed back and the story unfolded as if I had never left. Reunited with characters I've come to care for and meeting others gave additional layers to the book. There are multiple stories being told and woven together seamlessly. Some storylines are wrapped up and others are left hanging with loose ends which I hope will be resolved in the third book, LOVE UNDER THE STARS, of which there was an excerpt in the back of the book. It definitely left me wanting more and to see what would happen next!
This is youngest sister Taylor's story who's an author working on her third book. It was interesting to see her thought process especially in regards to edits and the title was spot on. She and her new editor, Cooper, get off on the wrong foot when he first introduces himself in an email. Then when they meet for the first time there's a full set of fireworks and not the kind you'd want to watch at their 4th of July celebration! They had to figure out how to work together professionally - with input from others they both trust - and it was sometimes painful and other times fun. Having a front row seat on the growth and changes to their relationship was both wonderful and rewarding especially how it balanced them.
I liked the three sisters continued interactions as well as how the cottage renovation is coming along. Renewed friendships, special people in their lives, their pets and having their lives unfold in front of us was nice to get immersed in. There were happy times and some with sadness along with tears, anger, secrets, small town life, festivities, businesses and more. There is definitely romance in the air but JoEllen has to go for many reasons. How she hasn't gotten her comeuppance again is surprising since she definitely is only looking out for herself and what she wants. How she invades other's lives and spaces and is always intrusive was both tacky and hurtful and ongoing in some cases.
There is a good flow to the story as it is told from each of the sister's points of view but it did end abruptly for me. There is a happily ever after in the offing which I always like to see! I liked how between the lines from the title had such an impact on the story. The cover drew me in with its richness, colors and attention to detail.
I gave it 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Writing about Love and Being in Love Are Very Different
Taylor Gilford is a woman who is very protective of her privacy. She may be a successful author but she also is very shy and insecure. However, that shyness doesn’t get in the way of her snarkiness. When Cooper, her new editor, is critical of Taylor’s up and coming book, she lets him know in no uncertain words what a loser he is. And so it begins, we have an enemies to lovers situation. And yes, they end up working things out, but the journey there is what’s interesting as well as entertaining.
This is a sweet read involving three sisters who all have made successful careers, but who all have some big roadblocks to swerve. This one is Taylor’s story. I love how the author intertwines all three sisters in the storyline while keeping the main focus on one of the three.
We not only see the other two sisters play a supporting role to Taylor, but also get more insight into their own issues and personal lives. The first book was about Dani, a successful architect having problems with her work being sabotaged. The next, and last book in the series, will feature Whitney, a very popular and beautiful actress, who needs to get away from some juicy Hollywood gossip.
So, off to grandma’s house they go… literally. GG, their grandmother, is not in the best of health. She wants and needs her granddaughters close by. She also wants to make sure the ancestral homestead remains in the family, so she gives it to the three girls with a ‘catch’. They have to live in it at least six months a year. The timing was perfect, as all three granddaughters needed to get away and reboot. The personal and professional issues they have been facing have taken a toll.
Oh, I would be remiss if I didn’t say something about a mystery involving the family cottage…. a ghost like mystery….hmmm, enjoy!.

Three sisters have been given a cottage by their grandmother with the proviso that it will be lived in for at least six months out of the year. The sisters have all made very different lives for themselves and haven’t been close, but their grandmother hopes that renovating the cottage will give them a chance to reconnect. This book is centred around Taylor, the youngest sister who is an author currently suffering from writer’s block. She hopes the new setting in Lilac Lake will provide some inspiration.
After receiving some harsh criticism for her new book, Taylor is not at all happy to have her new editor show up to work with her, not that she was given a choice in the matter. Tension and resentment soon give way to a more positive attitude and a friendship between Taylor and Cooper. Neither is expecting the attraction and the deeper feelings they try to keep under control. He helps her to be more confident and to stand up for herself. She opens him up and gives him a new outlook on life. They discover that they make a great team professionally. Maybe they could be a great team personally too if they are willing to take the chance on love.
As for Taylor’s two sisters, they are surprisingly supportive of her and her struggles. Each is in the midst of an uncertain time in her life and is in need of some self-reflection and evaluation as well as some emotional support. The mystery surrounding the ghost that haunts the cottage gives the sisters something to work on together. Who knows what secrets may come to light?
The characters and storyline of this book are very well developed and fascinating. I enjoyed Taylor’s enemies to lovers romance as well as the interactions among the sisters and the deepening of their bonds. The ghost just adds a little extra interest to an already captivating book.
"Love Between the Lines" by Judith Keim is the second book in a series, and I have read the first one before this. The story takes place in Lilac Lake and follows the three Gilford sisters: Dani, Whitney, and Taylor. Taylor, the youngest sister, is the main character in this book. Even if you haven't read the first book, this one can be read as a standalone.
Like most authors, Taylor is shy and insecure despite her success as a writer. When Taylor receives an email from her new editor, Thompson C. Walker, her insecurities come to the forefront. However, as the story progresses, Taylor begins to assert herself and her independence in her career.
Dani and Brad are engaged. They are doing well as the renovations on their cottage are progressing smoothly. Meanwhile, Dani helps one of her sisters during a difficult time, which helps to reconnect their family bond.
Whitney has left Tinsel Town and is finding her place in the local community. With the help of some locals, she is getting more involved and even has a dream of starting a drama group. However, a phone call will soon shake Whitney's world and make her reevaluate her past and future.
When the editor arrives in town, Taylor initially wants nothing to do with Cooper. However, after talking with her agent, Taylor decides to try to work out their work issues. As they get to know each other and work together to make her book the best she has written so far, they both start to have different feelings surface between them.
I am excited to read the next book in the series and find out if Whitney will get her happy ending. Like all the books I have read by Judith Keim this one has everything I need in a great book.
Love Between the Lines is book two in The Lilac Lake series by Judith Keim. Although the three sisters are in the book, this one center's around Taylor Gibson who is a romance writer and she is having some problems with her publishing house, especially her new book editor Cooper. He sends her a scathing email, in her estimation about her current work in progress. She is not having it and proceeds to call him on it. He comes to Lilac Lake to work with her in her in editing the books. The animosity soon turns to friendship and then to something that neither of them were looking for. As they explore the characters in her books relationship, they soon start to fall in love. But can they have a future together with them both different places in their careers and where they are both living. Also they found out that there were people working in the background wanting these to to explore more than just their working relationship.
I enjoyed this book, it had lots of the family drama from book #1 with the three sisters and how their lives intertwine while they are renovating the cottage their grandmother gave them, while still focusing on Taylor and Cooper. It brings in more of the town and it's resident and we learn a lot more about the "ghost" inhabiting the cottage. Their is lots of fun moments to bring Taylor and Cooper closer together. There were parts where I felt the books lagged a little bit, but over all it was a nice story of sisterhood, friendship and love.
I would recommend you read book#1 to get the backstory on certain characters, but it is certainly not necessary if you "read between the lines" you will see how the characters evolved. This book is a solid 4 star read. One that will leave you with a happy feeling by the end.
This is book two in The Lilac Inn series and it is Taylor’s story. When Dani, Whitney and Taylor arrive at there grandmother GG Inn to help her renovate because of her health she only had one stipulation and that is the girls have to live at Lilac Inn for 6 months of the year and they all agree because they are in situations in there lives and need a break. Taylor is the younger sister and she is quiet, shy and valued her privacy especially as a successful writer of her fantasy series and she was doing really well until a critique who is her new publishing editor throws her life and writing career into turmoil causing her to have writers block and she hoped that living in the cottage at Lilac Inn would give her some time to not only get to know her sister’s Dani and Whitney better as Taylor had always felt like the odd one out but also give her a chance to look at her life and be able to move forward without giving up the career that she loves. This is a slow burn story that starts off with Taylor and Cooper being enemies until he shows up at the cottage to help her and even though things between them are tough to start with it soon turns into friendship and even though the attraction between them is strong and so are there feelings for each they are both in different places in there careers and lives so how will they make this work out for them in the end. I am really enjoying this series so much as each sister overcomes there own situations and problems and I can’t wait to read the final book in this series.
Book two in the series takes us back to the Lilac Lake Inn. Gigi has decided to sell the inn and has offered her three granddaughters the cottage she is gifting them with the requirement that it must be occupied by one of them for at least 6 months of each year. Book 2 is Taylor's story.
Taylor is the youngest of the three sisters. Sometimes she felt left out because the two older sisters were closer in age and spent a lot of time together. She is a popular author and right now she is suffering from writer's block. She's gotten a scathing memo from her publisher about her books and then they have the audacity to send one of the editors to help her write her new fantasy book. She doesn't need help and she wants to refuse but she really doesn't have much choice. When the editor, Cooper, showed up to help her, she wasn't happy with the situation at all and she made no secret of her opinion. But the more time that Taylor and Cooper spend together, the more their relationship improves She shows him around town and they work on a 4th of July float together. The more time they spend together, the more they like each other and sparks begin to fly between them. Can they work together on a new book for Taylor's series?
I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know the three sisters better. As always, Judith Keim writes fantastic stories about women meeting challenges and finding love and happiness along the way.
Love Between the Lines is the second book in The Lilac Lake Inn series. The series is about the three Gilford sisters...Dani, Whitney and Taylor. This is Taylor's story.
Taylor is looking forward to living at Lilac Lake so she can have the chance to get to know her older sisters better. As the youngest of the three, Taylor always felt left out. In addition to that, she is hoping the time at the lake will end her writer's block. She has had a successful writing career, but after her new editor (Cooper) criticizes the current book she's writing, her confidence takes a major hit. To make matters even worse, Cooper shows up wanting to work with her on the editing. Can Taylor find a way to work with the man that caused her to doubt herself?
The story that unfolds is well-written with characters that draw you into their lives. I absolutely loved following Taylor's journey from self doubt to finding her confidence again. Cooper may have started out as the bad guy, but he plays an integral role in Taylor finding herself. This is the perfect enemies to lovers story! I also thoroughly enjoyed the deepening bond between the sisters. Their love and support for one another is a beautiful thing!
Overall, I highly recommend reading this book, as well as the first book in the series, Love by Design. I received an ARC of this book from the author. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.
Author Taylor Gilford, along with her sisters Dani and Whitney are staying in Lilac Lake, NH because their grandmother, GG is giving them a cottage on the property of Lilac Lake Inn. It use to belong to GG’s family and now she is passing it to her three granddaughters. Like her siblings, they have to live in the cottage six months out of the year. It’s being remolded. Since she can work from anywhere, Taylor decided to write while she’s there. When she receives harsh criticism from her editor, Thompson C. Walker she’s angry. He makes her doubt herself. She decides to take a break so she can figure out where the story of her characters should go. When she meets him, she sees that he’s willing to work with her if she gives him a chance. What can go wrong? The more time they spend together, they realize they have chemistry. They aren’t looking for a relationship right now. Both are concerned for their careers. Can they get along? Will they be able to work together? What does he think of their quiet, quaint small town? It’s peaceful. Will he head back to New York? Will Taylor go back there too, since she has her apartment there? Will she write another best seller? Love the characters on how they work together, how they feel about their careers and their relationship. They both deserve to find their soulmates. Worth the read. Judith Keim always make you feel like you’re right there with them. Has you rooting for the sisters. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily
This is the second book in a series about 3 sisters who have been given an opportunity to save a cottage on a lake in New Hampshire. A cottage that has been in the family for years. It also might, maybe, have a ghost.
If you haven't read the first book, you can still fully enjoy this book. This book mainly focuses on Taylor. She is an author and she's written and sold books that have many fans. But for her latest book, her agent has her with a new publisher and a new editor. The new editor makes Taylor doubt her talent and he's downright infuriated her. But he's forced to come to NH to work with her to make her story better.
The three sisters, from two different fathers love each other, but they have led very different lives. Living and working together has enabled them to become closer and more supportive than ever.
This story is much like other Judith Keim books, strong, capable, and talented women, being brought together to work on a project. And as they grow with the project, they enhance their skills, find a new parts of themselves, and find love. I enjoy these upbeat stories about wonderful, loving women, who accomplish so much for themselves and their female counterparts.
Taylor has been successful in her writing of different books and she has a following that she appreciates. She is left a home to share with her sisters and she is excited to be able to go there and write. There is one problem with the place but Taylor is determines to get over her fears. In the meantime her publisher has decided that she is not getting deep enough into her characters and so has assigned an agent to work with her. He has written her an e-mail that is awfully cutting and has upset her greatly. She contact her editor and explains that she does not want to work with this arrogant, snobby, rude person and that they will need to just let her do things the way she always has. Her editor asks her to be patient as there are changes in the publishing company and they are trying to work out how the changes will affect her and the other writers. She agrees to try and so begins a wonderful story of two very strong individuals learning how to interact with each other in a way that will not jeopardize feelings, dreams and wanting to be the best that they both can be. Remember never to judge a book by the cover, what is deep inside is much more interesting.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in the Lilac Lake series, focused on Taylor. Taylor is one of 3 sisters who have inherited a cottage in Lilac Lake from their grandmother, with the provision that the property be occupied at least 6 months each year. GG, their grandmother still lives close by in a facility, but still very “with it” and involved.
Taylor is an accomplished author who is having some issues getting inspired for her next book. Things only get worse when she receives an email from her new editor with a harsh critique of her last book. She’s still fuming when Cooper shows up in town, determined to work together on getting the book ready.
I always enjoy reading books by this author. They are a perfect blend of sisterly love and support, and great men that they end up falling in love with. Clean, sweet, small town stories that are heartwarming, with real life issues and challenges. Looking forward to reading Whitney’s story next, she deserves happiness now more than ever!
Thanks to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
This is the second book in the Lilac Lake series, where GG has invited her 3 granddaughters to return to Lilac Lake where they spent their summers as children. This is Taylor’s story. She is an author and receives a rude email from her new editor criticizing her work. She is furious, and then he shows up to try to work with her. Taylor calls her agent who basically tells her to deal with it. The 3 sisters continue to have work done on the cottage. Dani is now engaged to Brad and continues to work on designs for the cottage as well as the homes Brad’s company is building. Whitney is trying to find her place in Lilac Lake when she receives some devastating news from her agent. There is a lot of depth to the characters. Although this is a series, each book could stand alone as there is a conclusion. There are also some elements in the books that carry over to the next one, but not as a cliffhanger. It’s just that you know Joellen’s story isn’t done. She was introduced in book 1, Brad’s deceased wife’s sister who thought she should be the one to marry Brad. For best enjoyment of the series, start with Love by Design, Dani’s story.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. We are back with the Gilford sisters at Lilac Lake. The renovations on the cabin are going well. Taylor Gilford, the author, is working on a new book. She writes under the name of Taylor Castle, and is very protective of her privacy. Lilac Lake was just what she needed until she got an email from her new editor.
Thompson C. Walker, Cooper, is a new editor and straight forward. Not at all a team player from what Taylor got from the email he sent her regarding her latest novel. She can't work with people like that. At least that is what Taylor told to her agent, Dorothy Minton. What she got back was an emphatic - try and try hard. Cooper Walker was on his way to Lilac Lake with strict orders to fix this and work with Taylor.
Taylor felt an instant attraction to Cooper. She knew they could not work together if they acted on the attraction, but it only grew. Did Cooper feel the same way? Did he have a point about her latest novel lacking depth? Taylor was ready to create a more in-depth novel, maybe Cooper was just the person to help her with that.
New Hampshire #2 This one was slow. Dani is now engaged and building her relationship with Brad. Working on the cottage. Whitney gets news that Zane overdosed and when she got to LA he had passed. Dani came out to help her. Zane left his estate to her so she had to deal with that n left it to charity. Taylor got an email from her editor and she was all upset. Then he shows up in town. They have to work together on her book. They spend time and when they touch tingles go all over. They work on the 4th of July parade, he get at taste of small town life. Then his mother has heart attack he has to go back to NYC. They talk but they really miss each other. She has to go to NY to meet the mom which is her publisher. They take the relationship to the next step, then the next day they go to meet the mom. Cooper tells his mom they are in love. After dinner they go home on a high of the day. Taylor turns around and cooper has a ring and asks her to marry him. Then she heads back to Lilac Lake.
I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. The sisters in these books are so real to me as I read about them and their lives. Every sister has a life story to tell, and the stories all blend together. This one was slightly focused on Taylor and her story. Taylor is an author, and she has gotten stalled on the book she is now writing. Her agent tells her she needs help with this book to avoid issues with the publishers. This brings an editor to her to see what he can do to help her make the book better. Taylor did not hit it off with Cooper, but she did know this was what had to happen to get things moving. Judith Keim has written a great book to add to this series and I recommend this one to readers. The Lilac Lake Inn is a wonderful series that will fill you with so many emotions as you read them. Thank you Netgalley, Judith Keim and Wild Quail Publishing for the ARC Love Between The Lines. This is my personal review.
This story revolved around Taylor and Cooper, but her sisters, Whitney and Dana were also featured. Taylor was an author who was working on her new romance book when the editor (Cooper) tore it to pieces She was furious and told her agent about it. She told Taylor to take some time off and just relax before getting back to the book. Cooper came to town and even though she was not happy to see him, she agreed to get to know him. That started the ball rolling on their romance and the book getting a rewrite that was much better. The sister were remodeling their grandmother's cabin and were required to live their 6 months every year. They weren't sure about that term, but as they got acquainted with the small town again, they realized it was a good thing. Their grandmother was in a retirement home and they loved being close to her.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Series with a family saga are always attractive to me, even more so when the family has affection and support for each other (and isn't one of those series where one person wants to kill the other to gain advantages). I haven't read the previous book - Dani - and even though I think about reading it someday, so far I haven't felt that it hindered the reading of Taylor's story. Taylor is a famous writer who is going through a period of writer's block. Her last book was not well received by her own editor, which created an (interesting!) scene of rupture. Needing to get away for a while, going to her grandmother's house, who is not in good health, in Lilac Lake, becomes welcome. There, she meets her sisters, Dani and Whitney, women who are also successful in their careers and take advantage of this time for reflection, mutual help and new decisions. A book about sisterhood, friendship and self-discovery. 4 stars
I enjoyed the second book of this series. Love Between the Lines focuses on Taylor, an author who is struggling with her new book. When her new editor Cooper sends her an email with suggestions for edits and insinuates that she has never had a meaningful relationship, she loses her confidence. While Cooper was correct, it hurt Taylor. They were instructed to fix their working relationship by the publisher and her agent. Meanwhile, Whitney and Zane break up after his drug use spirals. She leaves LA and rumors fly. When tragedy strikes, Whitney has to return to LA. I am still confused by the ghost and the box of baby things. Hopefully we will learn more soon. I am enjoying the characters and look forward to the next book. I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Lilac Lake holds a special place in the hearts of three sisters, Whitney, Dani and Taylor as they spent many summers there growing up. Returning is a chance to find out what they want in their lives. This time we learn more about Taylor. She is a writer and has always been more quiet and shy than her sisters, but when pushed she can stand up for herself. This is especially true when a new editor harshly critiques Taylor’s latest manuscript. Sparks fly even more when that handsome editor shows up announced in Lilac Lake to meet with Taylor. You don’t need to read between the lines to know that Judith Keim enjoys writing heartfelt books for her many readers. I have enjoyed her characters, her touch of mystery and as always, that little touch of romance in all her books. I received an arc from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Three sisters are in a a resort town to refurbish a cottage left by their grandmother under the condition that someone of them must live in it for six months of the year. Dani was the subject of the first book, and is happily engaged to a local construction owner and is an interior decorator. Whitney is a well known screen actress in between shows, and Taylor is an author, whose latest book has been savagely criticized by Cooper, her new editor. The book is about building relationships between sisters, and Taylor getting one her writing block and entering into a romantic relationship with Cooper. For Whitney's story to finish, there will need to be a sequel. I had not read the first one, but this one works as a stand alone. A good beach read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc and no pressure for a positive review.
Love Between the Lines is the second book in Judith Keim’s Lilac Lake Inn series. Youngest Gilford sister, author Taylor, is the focus of this story. Half sister to Dani (Love by Design main character) and Whitney, Taylor envies their blond, blue eyed beauty. But Taylor has a dark beauty of her own which is rapidly seen when her infuriating editor Thompson C. (Cooper) Walker comes to town.
Having insulted his popular author by his comments, Cooper has been directed by the publisher to work one-on-one with Taylor and told that he needed to make the collaboration happen if he wanted to move forward in the company. As they work together there are unexpected twists and turns, some positive, some not so much, that lie ahead creating a lovely story.
I did enjoy this novel and look forward to the third in the series. I do recommend this book
It was such fun to return to Lilac Lake in New Hampshire to catch up with the Gilford sisters. This book mostly focused on Taylor, the youngest sister. She was an author and had a new editor that she was upset with. He had offended her in his letter to her about her book and that it appeared she had never been in love. She was not looking forward to having to work with him on revisions for her book. I enjoyed the sparks between Taylor and Cooper and how the sisters and GG were always there for each other. I especially liked how the title came to play in the final chapters of the book. It made it extra special. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This is book two in The Lilac Lake Inn series and it tells Taylor’s story. Taylor is the author out of the sisters. Right now she’s suffering from writer’s block and is hoping being in Lilac Lake will help with her new book. She’s been assigned a new editor at the publishing house and she's still mad about what he (Thomas C. Walker) wrote. When he shows up to talk to her, she tells him not a chance and to leave. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but this is the perfect title for Taylor and Cooper’s book. I also loved reading more about Dani and Whitney and what’s going on in their lives. I can’t wait to read Whitney’s story next.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Absolutely loved Taylor's story. This is the second story in the Lilac Lake Inn series and it didn't disappoint. We find the 3 sisters working hard to remodel the cottage that their Grandmother Genie gave to them on one condition that one of the sisters has to live in the cottage 6 months of the year. The characters are well thought out and I really like the way the author weaves each story around one character but there are side stories with the other sisters. I would love to live at Lilac Lake sounds peaceful and comforting in times when you need solace. You can read this as a standalone BUT I would highly recommend reading the first book you won't be disappointed.
Love Between the Lines, the second installment in The Lilac Lake Inn series, welcomes readers back to familiar characters and introduces new ones, weaving multiple storylines seamlessly together. As youngest sister Taylor navigates her journey as an author, readers witness the sparks fly between her and her new editor, Cooper, amidst professional challenges and personal growth. The novel immerses readers in the sisters' continued interactions, cottage renovations, and the ups and downs of small-town life, complete with romance, festivities, and the looming presence of a troublesome figure. While the story flows smoothly from each sister's perspective, the abrupt ending leaves readers eager for more, anticipating a satisfying conclusion in the next installment, Love Under the Stars.
Book #2 of The Lilac Lake Inn series opens with Taylor receiving an email from her new editor that was strongly worded and hurtful. When he contacts her to discuss, she wants no parts of it and hangs up on him. Now, her agent is upset and wants Taylor to work with Cooper and work through their issues. Cooper heads to Lilac Lake to work in person with Taylor and try to fix their working relationship.
In the meantime, Dani is working with her betrothed to redo the cottage and assist with the new development. Whitney is trying to find her place in the new world outside of Hollywood.
As the story of the sisters winds forward, it is another example of family and female bonds.
Lilac Lake is calm and serene, the lives of three sisters not always so. This is the second in the Lilac Lake Inn series and the story of Cooper and Taylor. All three sisters are creative, each in their own way and Taylor is an author. She meets Cooper under less than stellar circumstances but love finds a way to bloom like the lilacs anyway.
its another sweet story from Ms Keim who as always manages to tell her story in the kindest of ways even when angst rears it's head. The characters remind the reader of someone you'd meet going to the store which makes the book ever so easy to read. As the happily ever after leaves the reader smiling.
This story takes place in Lilac Lake. This series is about three sisters and their grandmother who has moved into a retirement home. The grandmother has given the granddaughters her cabin with the stipulation that they have to live in the cable 6 months out of every year. The sisters, Dani, Taylor and Whitley each have their own stories and this one belongs to Taylor. She is a famous romance writer and trying to finish up her current book when the Editor, Cooper, comes into town to help her edit the book. Taylor is not happy with this turn of events and so begins the battle of enemies to lovers. Read this book to find out what happens with Tayor and Cooper.
