I tried. I tried really hard to give this book a chance. I got to 25% and I gave up. I just feel like there is zero depth. It feels like it could have been written by. A child. Maybe it is written for a different target audience than myself, but I couldn’t even continue on.
I’m sorry to this author but this is not for adult readers. The writing is juvenile. I couldn’t believe the story line at all. The ending made no sense whatsoever. I’m so sorry but no this is not a good book.
The grammar was extremely confusing, and I frequently got lost on whose point of view the story was being told from. It seemed to switch sometimes from sentence to sentence. Jael was wildly annoying. I still do not understand the plot or the point. She would constantly go on side rants completely irrelevant to anything. I also didn’t understand Sis. I thought they met and lived together for 6 months when Jael was super young, yet Sis taught her these complex concepts and how to wield a knife?? The ending I didn’t see coming, but I also don’t think it made any sense. Overall, the book was incredibly frustrating, didn’t make sense, and made me want to pull my hair out. I wanted to hit Jael with a stick, so I am glad she met her end.

This is a slow burn sci-fi fantasy romance. I loved the world building and all of the different dangerous species, but I have not been this frustrated with an FMC in such a long time!
Jael is an aspiring scientist something she's working on ends up dropping her through a portal into and unknown forest full of venomous plants and wildlife. she's saved by an alien who's been outcasted from his community and he's overjoyed he finally has someone who can keep him company.
Jael is definitely fearful, this leads to a lot of preconceived beliefs on her end, and this was the source of my endless frustration!!! She would recognize her biases and worked towards changing her perspective but then something else would happen and she would backslide back into her previous thoughts and would have to start all over again to work and overcome the same feeling of bias that stemmed from her own fear. at lot of this is due to Oz and Jael not being able to communicate fully as there was a communication barrier. Oz (the alien) was so sweet and only wanted to protect her and he has my entire heart! Now all that being said she did have some very productive character growth and I love when a book has characters that can make me go from loathing them to liking them and that happened for me in this book.
I also was not expecting the book to end the way it did, and Cannot wait to see where book two takes us as we were introduced to a new character at the end of this book.
I saw this book, read the blurb and was like, bet. I'm a Sagittarius let's read it. I had no clue it was sci-fi, nice little surprise. The writing does have some redundancis, but I'm not a writer so who am I to judge. I love the story. The second books is already on the way, and the ending, that twisted. Jaw dropped. I have a four day wait for book 2 and I seriously it needs to come sooner!!!
Probably 3.5 stars. What the literal HELL? I don’t even know how to articulate the ending. The rest of the book was good, but I was thrown for a loop with that end.
That could've been done in 200 pages or less. And the ending PISSED ME TF OFF LIKE WTF????? Jael is fucking annoying. This book was shit honestly can't even believe I finished it.
⭐️ This is a sci-fi romance with a big green gorgeous alien with a tail and a few more attributes you will have to read to believe. 💟 This book starts slow but if you hang in there until Chapter 2 it gets better and better, I finished this book in 2 days. I could not put it down! 💟 The romance between the human Jael and the alien Ozius is the most sentimental, sensual, thoughtful story I have read in a long time. When Jael realizes “she” is the alien on this planet I was in tears. 💟 Jael grows as a person because of her relationship with Oz. He is so nurturing to her where she has never experienced this before. He cares for her and shows her how much in his special alien way! 💟 Now there are other creatures on this planet besides the alien and you will meet a few of them. There is also a big hairy 8 legged pet tarantula named Rew…. That purrs. 💟 The ending was a perfect 5 star ending. This is a book I encourage you to read.
First off I wanna say THE TWIST IS KILLING ME! I was so angry when I saw the second book isn't out yet!
Secondly, I understand why there are mixed reviews so let me preface by saying I wouldn't recommend this book if you are wanting a super action packed and really fast pasted read HOWEVER, if you are looking for, romance, alien planet setting, multiple perspectives, and a gut-wrenching cliff hanger I would recommend!
The MMC is literally my dream man, all the characters have layers and secrets to be discovered. I can see how the second book can enter a deeper sci-fi territory with politics and world building. This first book was 85% romance and the rest is backstory on the characters/world building and it got really action packed within by the end. The romance is super heart warming and almost brought me to tears many times, I'm so looking forward to the sequel!
This book had a lot of really good ideas - starting with no-communication trope, on solitude and no apparent danger for MCs finishing. But it was all in vain in light of bad writing.
The worst of all is the lack of logic and integrity with FL. She's supposed to be a scientist, tinkering with some amazing peace of physics/engineering equipment, but when she's transported to another planet, it seems that a) she thinks like 10 year old, b) suddenly she starts to have a knowledge about evolutionary biology etc., even if she couldn't even differentiate trees at the beginning.
Also the ML species idea is just so out there that I cannot, just cannot suspend the disbelief.
This book was very entertaining for me I really enjoyed the no communication aspect and how they didn’t immediately fall in love and appreciated how caring they were for each other. Also the world building was really cool I enjoyed kind of discovering this new world with Jael. But that ending was so FUCKED like why just why? Like I want to believe that it’s a cruel joke but there’s no coming back from what happened. I’ll be waiting for the next book for the sole hope that it’s not actually true. If you’ve finished this book please discuss with me what your theories are I need to talk about this 😅
I hate to leave a bad review, but I had a hard time sticking with this story, & then the ending (Sorry, just a terrible way to end a story.) left me wishing I’d stopped reading when I initially got bored with it. I kept at it because I mostly liked the main characters. I will definitely not be purchasing any other books in this series.
This book is for the girls who really wanted to like ice planet barbarians but hated the pregnancy trope! 3.75 ⭐️ I could have done without all the baths. The ending I really did not expect... Very curious about where the next book is going.
Slow burn alien romance. World building is so good. I loved the adventures I could call them, but there were so many things going on that kept me sucked into the story. I love the main characters. They’re my favorite.
Maybe I'm biased but I loved this book! I came to truly care about the characters and was invested in them and their relationship. Was totally shocked by the ending in the best way!
3.5/5 I didn’t love how it was in third person, but I got used to it. The story was kind of sweet and I enjoyed it, even though it vaguely reminded me of Avatar. Overall, it was a good book once I got through the first few chapters. HOWEVER, if I knew how the end was going to be with little to no explanation I would have DNF this. because it really threw me off
