Hitmen Triumph is an amazing book written by Sigmund Brouwer. It is about two twins named Nolan and Nate they're on a hockey team but they go to a golfing event for a charity. They end with a good score but they confess to cheating. At the hockey rink these to bikers pull up by Nolan thinking it was Nate and they give him money and Nolan had no idea what it was. Later that night Nolan follows Nolan on a crazy "mission" and end up in a serious situation. I love this book and definitely give it five stars. It had amazing details which made me visualize what was happening. The theme of this book is don't give up and keep trying. Read the book to see what happens next.

This book was suspenseful, and it kept me on edge the whole time! I just kept reading this book and I just could not put it down. I was engrossed in the thrilling story of what was going to happen to the twin hockey players. Were they going to die? Turns out they didn't. I enjoyed how Nate was protecting Nolan and trying to bust the bikers the way their dad was trying to. I also loved how Nate ended up donating all the money to a police fund that helps families of cops killed in the line of duty for his dad. Overall, this book was very good!

A Review of Hitman Triumph by Sigmund Brown.

If you are deaf, play hockey, have dead parents, and have a twin brother, then you probably know the life of Nolan. Nolan has all those features in his life, with some issues too. It starts out with having a twin brother, then to not having parents past the second grade, to being deaf and having a bunch of audio devices just so that way you can hear people talk, and the list goes on. Good grief. There may not be a lot of hockey, but it still is a great book. It also doesn’t help that his brother Nate is in a gang that probably killed their parents. I think that this book could possibly be a masterpiece. And the great writing Sigmund Brown has helps you understand every thing that is going on.

An example of Sigmund Brown’s writing style is in chapter eleven, when Nolan gets mistaken for Nate. If you haven’t read the book or read up to chapter five, Nolan mistaken for Nate by some bikers that gave him an envelope that had $1,000 in it. The thing is that it’s the same bikers that have mistaken him before. Nolan was sitting in a car so the bikers invaded his car by breaking into it and throwing Nolan out of the car. The bikers then throw Nolan into their car and brought him to the Calgary Railroad tracks. The bikers then shocked Nolan with a flashlight taser, making him “scream and barely manage to get up.” That last part was actually said in the book, showing that Sigmund Brown is a very descriptive author.

Now I will actually talk about the book, instead of just saying everything the author has wrote in the book. Some parts of the book are a bit unrealistic that I didn’t like about the book. For example, Nolan likes to act like a spy. He does this by using all of his fancy audio devices. But there was one part where he doesn’t use his audio devices, and that was when he was following Nate to the movies. During this part, Nate is with the love interest Mercedes. The only thing I find weird about this is that Nolan is following Nate and Mercedes in his car, and Nate doesn’t notice. Well I guess it isn’t that bad, Nate must have not noticed it was Nolan who was driving the car. Well, any way this was my biggest problem with the book. Nolan is in a movie store, where, as mentioned before, he got beat up by the bikers. But this time, the bikers weren’t around, so he was fine. He was checking a section of the movie store by the entrance where there was Bruce Lee movies. The door opened and Mercedes walked in. This was not the only problem I had with this part. I can’t just hate something in the book because a character didn’t notice another. What I am really mad at, is right after that. So what happens is that Nolan doesn’t want to get noticed, so he put one of his audio devices that he just-so happens to have under one of the movies and says that he is leaving to the guy standing at the counter. This is what I have a problem with. How did Mercedes not notice that Nolan was the guy leaving? She saw him, I guess she didn’t want to say hi. Even after that he had an audio device on him that lets him hear from far distance. I guess he has in him all the time in case he needs to hear something from far away, but that can’t be the reason. Why does this device even exist? I bet you the slogan for the company that makes it is letting people hear from far away since 1967. But if there is an actual reason for this please tell me.

Well moving on, I’ll talk about Nate and the bikers. In the beginning of the book, Nolan is going to hockey practice, when some bikers pull up to him in a truck. They give him an envelope and told him “same time same place,” and drove off. Now this is the same envelope from the beginning of the review with $1000. From this detail, we can guess that Nate is getting more money from the bikers in this same place at this same time. The only question is how much money is Nate getting? Well, continuing on, there is probably something wrong with Nate going to the movie store. As you know, I mentioned how Nolan got beat up from the bikers in the beginning of the review. But I am going to say what happened after that. They put Nolan on the railroad tracks. When he was on the tracks, Nolan felt the tracks shaking, and he heard a train horn. He said that this was probably the end for him, that the train would run him over, killing him instantly. As soon as the train came, the bikers lifted Nolan off the tracks. Nolan didn’t care that the bikers probably were going to beat him up, he only cared that he was alive. The bikers then said to Nolan that the next time they see him in the movie store, they would leave him on the tracks. Well if you couldn’t see that there is something wrong with the movie store in that detail, then you have to have experienced something more painful than death itself. I don’t get why this movie store, out of all the movie stores in the world, is bad for Nate to go to. There has to be an explanation for this. I’m going to say *SPOILER ALERT* Even though it is not really a spoiler alert, but they don’t say why in the book Nate can’t go that store.

So this is a review of Sigmund Brown’s book, Hitman Triumph. It is a cool book and can possibly relate to everyone else’s lives (even though it doesn’t relate to mine). The writing hooks you the story hooks, basically everything hooks you. If you like hockey, adventure, or mystery, this is definitely the book for you.

It was labelled as “Adult Literature” by my public library, which felt rather odd given that there was no explicit content IMO. I was rather happy by this, as many others in the same genre are rather explicit and contain very little realistic hockey content. This should have been classified as YA by my library system.

Regardless, it was a fairly inoffensive read. Decent hockey content, a few interesting twists, and no unnecessary romance.

At first I was a bit hesitant about this book. Is this children’s book going to be any good? After starting to read it, I could not put it down. I was engrossed in the thrilling story of what was going to happen to the twin hockey players? Were they going to die? I became even more fascinated when Sigmund came to my school to talk about his books. He has a way with words that connects the audience. It was an honor and a privilege to meet him in real life.

I think this is one of the best books I have read because it has been about these two twin brothers who have been very bad to each other lately and Nolan was playing with his brother Nate. He wanted to get a goal once in a while. I think I could recommended this book to all ages because it is a very exciting a fast paced action book so get this book.

Radar(Nolan) and Nate are twins and they are very good together. Then later they started to argue about Nate having so much money. I think Nate had so much money because he wanted to support his family since their parents died.
