The golden forest ha una trama che ruota intorno un triangolo amoroso di cui, da una parte diventa relazione tossica, dall'altra amore incondizionato.
Si riesce ad entrare in entrambe le parti, perché nessuno dei due è puramente cattivo o puramente buono, e il loro punto di vista è abbastanza chiaro.
Le cose che ho apprezzato di meno sono la storia della " creazione", lunghissima, che interrompe la narrazione e alcuni punti morti che non portano a niente, compreso qualche buco di trama.
Ho letto interamente i 95 cap + i 2 extra, e non faccio che chiedermi... " e se ..." se fosse tornata entro i 4 giorni alla golden forest? Che storia si sarebbe sviluppata?
E se avesse incontrato Kun nella città di sale quando gli posta l'ascia?
Secondo me potevano svilupparsi tante conclusioni non scontate e la trama poteva finire in modo differente, diciamo meno complicato, e in modo più aperto.
Infatti non mi è pienamente piaciuta la scelta del finale di Gizzida.
In conclusione è una bella storia, piacevole da leggere.

A fantasy manhwa with actually good world-building and complex character relationships. It's kinda like if SJM wrote something but, like, with ethical authorial decisions.

Initially published on 18 April 2023, this is paperback version of Korean webcomic with the same title that covers the prologue until episode 10. Because of media change from long continuous online canvas to sized paper, the images felt compact, while longer images, some of them are my favorites, sadly got cut.
The story tells the struggle Reniae had, disguised as a boy between illegal cave raiders in snowy mountains of Northland. There were flashbacks of her childhood and images of a man with blonde, long hair; they were reason why she hid her identity. During a snowstorm, she heard SOS-like whistling sound. Following it, she found a gravely wounded boy named Kun, a Northlander, and took him to safety. But the cave raiders hate Northlanders and tried to kill him...
Color palette for cave scenes are somber. In webcomic, screen brightness could be adjusted to make it easy to read. In printed version the color in those scenes turned out really dark, felt more depressing. But overall I am satisfied with the quality of this book.
The cover shows Reniae standing under a gate with Tree of Life symbol. The gate has same image concept with image cover of its novel. The front flap has some comments from Ryuhwa (this is my debut work!) and Gyeonji, while the back flap has chibi-Reniae image with information that the webcomic was serialized every Wednesday on Korean platform Ridi.

Probably my favorite manhwa of all time. Uses Mesopotamian mythology for the religious/political structure of the world, which is such an untapped well of inspiration. This is definitely a bit of a darker story with the yandere ML, but there are no instances of SA! Magic, love triangle, and a powerful female lead! This story had me sobbing unlike any other, ripping my hair out, staying up until 4 am. shibal 💜 long overdue rate for the whole manhwa, but i used to go crazy abt this so much (i still do) 😋 love the plot and the plot twist?! young me was astonished. at first it was kinda boring, i kept dropping this to read new manhwas then picking it up again when im bored. after that narration in szn 1, i was hooked. things and stories of legends that seemed irrelevant at first began to make sense. until now this is still my fav manhwa. i used to bug my friends to read this and have a yapfest abt this manhwa 😮💨 I LOVETTE SM

Loved this book so much!! Truly one of the better manga/comics Ive read in a long time!! The plot is fantastic and the characters feel so real I couldn’t help but get swept up in it!!
