I've been searching for a good Easter season reflection book for a long time, so I was excited to read this one. I actually purchased the e-book version *last* spring, but I fell off the wagon very quickly. This year was a better time, so I opened up the file once again. The revised edition is available in a softcover version and has printed lines for journaling, so I hope the sometimes-distracting typos were corrected in that edition.
I liked the content for the most part. Reading these reflections definitely helped keep the Easter spirit alive! The format confused me, though. There are chapters, but they don't correspond to the weeks of the Easter season. I was kind of upset that there were no references to Divine Mercy Sunday or Good Shepherd Sunday. Can you imagine a Lenten reflection book that doesn't mention Laetare Sunday or Palm Sunday? It was confusing to be finishing a chapter and starting a new one in the middle of a week, especially since each chapter had a similar format: Scripture passage on day 1, fruit of the Spirit on another day, and an Easter Action Challenge on another day. I wanted the format to repeat over a week, not a random number of days.
The content of the reflections and prayers was of great quality. I have a good relationship with the Holy Spirit, so it was nice to hear someone else speaking of him the way I do (or at least the way I want to). I'm not sure if I'll be reading this again next year, but I have a better idea of what I'm looking for in Easter season reflections now.
