Not your usual western. Many things happen to one young man in a short time while he is on the trail of a killer. Some of the things are just plain bizarre. There are a number of plot twists concerning actual guilty parties. I am not explaining this well, but do not want to give away the surprises of which there are several. As for the writing, it is not equal to old standbys such as Max Brand but it is alright. I will probably try another of Williams' books.
BW. hS penned a Arizona western action adventure titled, "Satan's Gun", which starts with a young man searching for a killer. He heads west and is shot by the man whom he is after. After recovering he tries to get on the trail again, but he finds his grandfather has been murdered and returns to take over the operation of the ranch. He forms a working partnership with the foreman and he seeks a job as Deputy Marshal in the nearby town. After becoming a Deputy he discovers who murdered his grandfather and the reason for the murder. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
