This volume was pretty nice except for the whole Azusa and that creepy teacher part. I specially loved the story about Fugiyoshi and Mieaby although I still dislike her a lot.

This volume was not quite as good as volume 17 but it was still very good. The ending story will continue in volume 19.

Funniest Series EVER! My absolute favorite!! In this volume, Onizuka isn't fired, he turns all the water in the school into green tea (hilarious!), goes on a date with Uchiyamada's daughter at the Uchiyamada's home, and we see Urumi's relationship with her mother is healing. That annoying little twit, Teshigawara still has Miss WinterMoon (Fuyutsuki-san, sorry) stashed at his apartment aka shrine (which is conveniently located right next to hers). Lil Fujiyoshi sweetly (and insanely) steals a BMW and sneaks Miyabi out of the hospital in the middle of the night to sweep her away on an adventure to the coast. They get lost, see a ghost, and she tells him her big secret. Dun Dun DUN! Meanwhile, the kidnapped Fuyutsuki's lil sis arrives on the scene and oh yeah, she's a junior detective. She and Onizuka start nosing around for Miss Fuyutsuki, leaving all other side stories behind until next time.

Read this series first back in adolescence, and as I go through the same books this present day I find how resonant some themes that the author touches upon remain. Surely at face value the series might come across as silly or over the top; but it is in fact deeply rooted in everyday themes, troubles, vulnerabilities, passions among other threads. A real depiction of human connection as a manga can get.
