About the author

William W. Hewitt was a freelance writer, the author of eight books and several hypnosis audio tapes published by Llewellyn. He spent more than thirty years as a professional writer and editor in the computer, nuclear power and mining industries. He was a certified clinical hypnotheriapist and frequently lectured on hypnosis, mind power, self-improvement, metaphysics, and related subjects.

It covers a lot of information, but in a way that's very dry and technical. Towards the end, I skipped over a ton of pages. Very poor flow, but I suppose there aren't any books out there that are much better.

it was an okay astrology book. it taught me a lot but the author kept talking about straight examples.

This was a bit outdated and some of the language was a little insensitive. Having said that, however, I found most of Hewitt’s interpretations to be consistent with other sources, and for that I’m very grateful. This book teaches you how to interpret a natal chart, but will not cover why things are the way they are.

L'astrologia può diventare molto complessa molto in fretta, questo libro è un buon punto da cui iniziare a studiarla perché le informazioni sono molto semplici e adatte ad assoluti principianti.
Se sapete già qualcosa di astrologia potrebbe essere troppo base per voi ma secondo me vale sempre la pena leggerlo perché potreste trovare delle informazioni aggiuntive su aspetti che non vi sono molto chiari. Non lo trovo comunque sufficiente per poter interpretare un tema natale.
La parte su come costruire una carta astrale è inutile al giorno d'oggi perché esistono una miriade di siti che lo fanno per te.

Very helpful for beginners to understand basic concepts of astrology, though it's a bit dated. The author used his own chart to illustrate examples which can be easily understood. The explanation is clear too.
(Glad to see a Cancerian with Leo rising writing this! Maybe I can be like him too? :P)

Fairly basic, and much of the book deals with constructing a chart manually which in the modern era we don't have to worry about, but all in all a good overview/ introduction into Astrology.

One of the best astrology books out there! It's simple to understand, teaches a lot, and explains the aspects in very fast and efficient detail. It's an amazing read I recommend to all amateur astrologer and takes up to max 4 days to read
