For my biography,I picked Walt Disney!!!His full name is Walter Elias Disney. He is a really interesting person and he is very, very famous. This book is all about him and his life. Walt created many of the first Disney movies, such as Mickey Mouse Club House, Cinderella, and Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. Walt Disney ran into many problems throughout his life. One of the problems he ran into was that he didn't have enough money to build Disney Land. The reason he wanted to build Disney Land was, because whenever he went to other amusement parks, he thought they were too dirty or the food tasted disgusting. He wanted people to enjoy parks, because they pay so much to get in. One night, he had a vision, and in that vision he saw Disney Land. He decided to create it. Walt Disney and his family went through many adventures. His family would go visit all different types of places and many different amusement parks. What I read in the book was that he was a big trouble maker when he was just a little kid. One time he grabbed hot tar and started drawing on the house with it. WOW!!! Thats a little too much!! His parents did not like that, especially, because he got his little sister to do it with him. This book was all about Walt and so of course, he was my favorite person or character in the book. I think that Walt Disney is really awesome. He always puts his family before anything else. That would be pretty hard to do, especially when you're so famous.
One of Walt's daughters is always gone away from home. She loves to be camping, hiking, or doing anything but sitting around. She also always likes to be with someone. That's just like me. I love to do anything other than sit around. My mom says I need to learn to do things by myself, because I always think I need to be with someone. I hate being alone!!! It freaks me out and it is boring.
I thought that some parts of this book were really interesting, but others I thought were a little boring. My favorite part of this book is when Walt Disney describes all of the amusement parks he had been to. He talks about how messy they are and how dirty they look. One of the parts that I didn't like is when it would descibe how Walt Disney drew Mickey Mouse. It was not very interseting to read. Parts of the book made me a little mad, because I thought it would be more interesting and there would be funny things to read about. I would change a lot of things in this book. One of those things is that I would try to make things sound alittle more interesting and tell about more funny things that happened in Walts life.
If you are a person that likes to read about other people and their lives, I would recommend this book, because Walt is a pretty amazing person. I am just not one of those people that likes to read about other people. I like books that are stories and not real life.

Walt Disney: Creator of Mickey Mouse is a biography of Walt Disney's life, hopes and dreams. Walt Disney grew up with humble beginnings, but he knew his passion in life was creating characters that made people happy. Walt Disney did not have instant success, he struggled to succeed as an artist. Walt Disney never gave up his dreams and surrounded himself with talented people to help him make these dreams come true.
This book helped me understand Walt Disney as a visionary who created the first cartoon with sound and color. Walt also developed new equipment for cartoon production. Walt worked long and hard for the success he so deserved. After reading this book I have a greated appreciation for Walt Disney and how believing in yourself is a key to achieving success. I would recommend this book to my classmates more as an inspirational book on how hard work, a creative mind and following your dreams can lead to success.

Walt Disney is obviously a very know man. He was born in December 5 1901. He made the Disney Studios, Disney Parks and many movies. Thought he was a very rich man at the end of his career, he had a lot of difficulties in his life. Some of the difficulties were that he ran out of money some times and had to invent something new or make something. On this situations he asked for money or made another film, but the quality were decreasing cause to the little money he had. Another difficulty he had was looking for a job. He spent a lot of time looking for a job until he decided to make a business of his own. He made this with some of his friends "'We?' Roy asked. 'Yes, we,' Walt repeated" (Cole 32). Those are some difficulties Walt has experienced in his life.
When Walt opened his own business he also had some problems that were hard to solve. One problem was that he was getting to little money to pay the people working with him. "... and still was unable to pay them highly for the hard work and long hours that they put in the studio" (Cole 38). Another problem he had was that he didn't have many people to buy his one comedy film series, so he decided to make a new character, Mickey Mouse. "Walt Disney returned home in March 1928 with the idea of a new character still brewing in his head" (Cole 40). Those are some problems that Walt had when he started his business.
The character Walt Disney thought of was Mickey Mouse. He first thought of something original that people couldn't see in real life. he wanted to be original to make people want to watch his film series instead of other people's. Another thing that he had to do to create Mickey was to do it in secret. "... Walt had to construct a makeshift animation workshop in his garage" (Cole 41). Those are some of the things that Walt had to do to create the new character, Mickey Mouse.
In his new business, Walt also did the first animated movie with sound. He did this with the character Mikey Mouse. The cartoon was named Steamboat Willie. "Disney thought Steamboat Willie was a surefire hit" (Cole 45). He did not do as much money as he wanted to make but he was running low so he decided to go with the first option that came up. After doing the first animated cartoon with sound, he noticed that he would have to pay $26,000 a year to the person that owned the equipment. Those are some things that happened to Walt as he mad the first animated cartoon with sound.
After he decided to go with the deal, he made many more animated cartoons with sound. One of the was called Skeleton Dance which was a musical cartoon. Though there weren't many people that wanted to buy that cartoon he finally made a deal. "Pat Powers only wanted Mickey Mouse..." (Cole 50). Mickey Mouse cartoons were still the one that were making more profit. Those are some issues with Walt and his animated cartoons.
Walt had some big problems in 1930, when Iwerks his friend wanted to go to Powers instead of staying in the studio. One of the problem was that he had to break up the contract with Powers so the sound system didn't belong to him anymore. To make things worse the sound system was being used by Iwerks for free for working with Powers. Another problem was that whenever Walt tried for some people to buy his animations, Powers would talk to them about him in a bad way. The final problem was that Disney studios still owed Powers $150,000 for the sound system. Those are some problems Disney had in 1930.
Some days later, Walt decided to try making cartoons with color. The first thing that they needed was someone to help them make the cartoons. They made an agreement with United Artists for the colored cartoons. After his brother told him that it would not be a good idea. He said this because he thought that the paint would come of, but Walt insisted of trying it. Walt also knew that he was way in debt with some people but he decided to go with it. Those are some things that happened with the new idea of Walt.
In July 1932, the first cartoon with color was released. It was called, Flowers and Trees from the Silly Symphonies cartoons. The impact with color was enough for what Disney wanted. A lot of people showed up to watch the animated cartoon. The cartoon was with great effort, creativity and quality. That is what the impact was of the first Disney studio cartoon with color was.
Snow white and the seven dwarfs, was the first movie that brought a lot of money to the Disney studios. The release brought more money than the studio had inverted on making it. Another movie that brought more money to the studio was Cinderella and Bambi. Those three stories were the ones that more brought money to the Disney Studio in the 1940's.
There were some movies that made Walt Disney regret making them. He regretted them because they cost him so much money and didn't earn enough. Some of those movies were Fantasia a movie that didn't make much people go and watch it. When the big money waste was done Walt was in even more trouble. He owed $4.6 billion to the bank and didn't have a way of getting the money. Those are some problems that Walt had latter on in his life.
Walt was in big debt to the bank when a miracle happened. Peter Pan raised about three times as much as it had cost too make. Now Walt could pay of the debt with the bank and start his dream. His dream was to build an amusement park. He built it in California after going to many different parks to get ideas. Those are some things that made Walt's life change completely.

I personally loved this book. I normally don't enjoy reading nonfiction books, but this one was definitely a great book. I think because I love all sorts of Disney movies or shows, this book caught my eye. I loved reading about the creator of all my favorite Disney characters.

Disney moved many times when he was a young boy, because of his father. Wot had two older brothers that eventually moved out of the house, and soon after so did Walt. This book tells about the creations of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Bambi, Dumbo, Mickey Mouse, and even Disneyland. At one point in Walt's career, he began working with his brother in an animation studio. Sometimes the studio was earning money without any problems, but other time the were in debt. He was a very interesting man who had a great imagination. Many people love watching his old films and seeing how his movies were. Disney's legacy still continues to this day and people of all ages love the productions.
I would personally recommend this book to anyone. Most people love Disney movies and if you're one of them, I would read this book. I really enjoyed reading about the struggles and successes he went through. I think everyone who loves Disney would enjoy this book.

When he was 16 he left the school to go to the army, but they didn’t accept him, so he joined the Red Cross and he went to France for a year to drive an Ambulance.
His brother John found for him a job where he met Ube Ebert (a cartoonist); the name of his society was Pesmen-Rubin. Disney wants to create this park because he was thinking that Paris didn’t have too many parks so he wanted to build the park in the wonderful city of Paris. In this book we can see the hard work of Walt Disney when we see that he was the original voice of Mickey Mouse. But sometimes he can be very mysterious...

Walt Disney Creator of Mickey Mouse is incomparable to other biographies. It really opened my eyes on who Walter Disney really was, rather than just the creator of Disneyland. It starts off with his childhood and his close relationship with his brother Roy. It later develops into a love for cartoons, then television. After making various different T.V shows, he decided to go into the movie business which was both struggle and success. It really just depended on the film. He finally was sure that his legacy was Disneyland. So, after that was built he started on Epcot. Unfortunately, he was not able to live to the end of that construction.
The factor that I enjoyed the most is that the author went into detail about even the smallest things. Also, it mentioned basically the whole family tree which was great as well. Of course, it was a biography so it was all facts, but I did not care.
If you would like to know more about who Walt Disney REALLY was, then absolutely read this.

The book's title is Walt Disney: Creator of Mickey Mouse by Michael D. Cole. The Main Character is Walt Disney. The genre of this book is a nonfiction biography. The setting of the book is of Disney's life in the early 1900's leading to the 1960's. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901. In the beginning of his life, he wanted to start a company that produced cartoons. These cartoons were the spark that created the company that we know and love, Disney. Walt Disney died on December 16, 1966. I rate this book 5/5 stars because of how much detail it gave about Walt Disney and his life.

I really enjoyed reading this book because I never read the novel before. Therefore, it is first time that I read the novel. This novel is quiet easy level for me, so I recommend people who is English as a Second Language people because it is easy.Another reason why I like this book is that I am really interested in Walt Disney because he made the Mickey Mouse which one of the my favorite character. After I read this book, I understood how the Mickey Mouse is made and other Disney characters.

Walt DIsney is a biography of Walt Disney. All about him as a kid, growing up, and throughout his life. How he created MIckey Mouse and others.
I enjoyed this book because it tells how Disney the company got started from the very start. It is just very inspiring.I hope one day that I will start a company as popular as Disney.

This book was interesting, but didn't delve as much into Disney's personality or character as I wished it did. It's a children's biography.

During his childhood Walt Disney childhood was full of imagination. For example he once drew a tar painting on the side of his house, yet his parents weren't to happy about it. When he was a teen he ran off and fought,although he worked in the Red Cross and even used his drawing skills to earn 300$. Disenys first business was called Iwerks-Disney, but it quickly went bankrupt. Later he started a new business the one which will grow into the one we know today, the Disney Brothers Studio. The studio had ups and downs, although we look back and see the beginning of movies and comedy that we have today.
While Disney creates today entertainment he had the skill to never give up. During his adventure he encountered many obstacles. Even the strenuous proccess of working in the studio, he worked to produce the best films possible. Disney had to deal with countless money problems, although he worked through it. Disneys legacy still shows today, and it is all because of his hard work.
