This is a nice - one-chapter-a-night-before-bed type of book, to try to center yourself, redirect your focus, etc. It has a spiritual basis to making a more peaceful home, a more successfully running home & family, and finding and developing your strengths as a mom (and wife - so not real relevant to single moms on that front). Overall - useful, and thought-provoking.
I really liked this book. There was so much information in it that I'm going to have to read it again. She has questions at the end of each chapter to help you apply the information to your own life. These really made me think and I got so stuck on some of the ideas in the first part of the book, that I put it down for awhile before deciding to just read through the rest without doing the questions. When I read it again, I'll focus more on the second and third parts and go more in depth. I think this is a great book for any mom who needs to figure out her purpose beyond the mundane of everyday with kids. This book is not just for stay-at-home moms, either. She addresses moms who work outside of the home as well, making suggestions that might help them in each area she discusses.
This book opened my eyes to building my family and home on holy ground. I loved the message of the book, I loved the tips and advice, and I loved that it gave me opportunity to reflect in my role as woman, mother, and daughter of our Lord.
