I appreciated how this book was done in two parts. The first was a well written and informative introduction to these creatures that would be perfect for a young person's school report or to satisfy any curious mind. The second offers great advice for getting an up close and personal look at the species of slugs, snails, and worms that inhabit the area the reader lives, as well as a way to identify their species. This also is great way to teach young readers about the classification of living creatures and how scientists tell different species apart. All around a very informative book.
Surprisingly detailed informational text for kids, there are lots of pictures with lots of descriptions. Lovingly portraying animals often dismissed as gross, with lots of questions for kids to think about.
