Yes, everyone knows I read these kind of books like crazy. I think I read every single one that appears in print, just because I love animals so much! Yes, most of these were stories I'd read before, but that doesn't take away from the pleasure. It is rather a refresher to a story I may have forgotten and can appreciate again. There are a number of Australian stories too, which is also nice.

Five stars, just like the animals themselves!

Evaluation: This book is a heartwarming book filled with fury heroes and their amazing stories. The book is written so well and makes you feel like you were there. The book has lots of pictures of the animals and their owners. I will have this book on my shelf for sure.

Teacher Idea: the students will write a story about what it would be like to be saved by their pets. They will write about what the scenario was and how their pet stepped in at just the right time. This will be a fun activity for them to connect with the story. Many students may have pets and some may not. This activity will make them feel like they have their own furry best friend.

This book could have been amazing. Okay! I’m exaggerating, but it could definitely have been a lot better than it ended up being. One simple thing could’ve been done – editing. Surely all books have to be edited right? Somehow, despite this being a common enough book to be sold at big retail stores, Animal Heroes seemingly slipped through the cracks.
