An edge of your seat thriller where you will hold your breath as you follow this fast paced thrilling first book in a series that will make you want to read the next book in this serial series. It does end with a cliff hanger, but that doesn't take anything away from the book, it'll just leave you wanting the more. Our Main character, Emma Pepper is a hard-working detective hoping to make it to the top. Emma decides she is going to take a night off and go to an event at the Grand Ball Room. Dressed in a gown with her gun and radio in her purse, she come upon a man covered in blood who leads her on a chase until she catches up to him and take him in to the precinct. When questioning this man, she finds he only was robbing a dead man which was why he was covered in blood. The more details he tells, the worse it gets and the more it points to The Silencer, a serial killer they are after. With little progress having been made to find this killer, the chief call in Harper Storm and her partner Jill to help, characters from a previous series along with medical examiner, Audrey. Although Emma is not thrilled that outside help was called in on her case, the team gets to work on the hunt. Can they figure this killer out when he leaves no clues or evidence behind? We shall see...
This is definitely a well written book and if you like serials this is great! I highly recommend this book with great characters and lots of action. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story begins with Emma having a day off where she is at a concert performance. Waiting for the event to start, she spies a man covered with blood and then takes off chasing him. Even though she is dressed to the nines, she just runs after him and chasing him quite aways before he is caught. Two of Emma's team then begin questioning him and one of the answers that he gives have everyone thinking of a serial killer that they have been looking for with no luck. The individual leads them to whe the body is located. Since this is such a large hunt, a team in brought in to assist led by Hannah Storm.

The team begins a search once the victim is identified and once again when they get to the person's home, there is no evidence to be found just like their luck in the prior killings. One thing finally shows its' face and that is a connection.

One of the members of Hannah's team discovered something about the viictim. What was it? You will need to read this book and discover what it is. In addition the ending will still leave you wondering.

Emma Pepper has taken a night off from her NYPD detective job to go to an event at the Grand Ball Room the biggest event center. Even though she is dressed to the nines when a man appears covered in blood and runs she gives chase. Thankfully she didn’t wear heels. After a long chase she catch’s him. Goes back to the precinct when the police arrive in her now torn dress. The blood isn’t the suspects. He says he found a body in the rafters already bleeding. The more information he gives gives them chills. Seems the serial killer the silencer is back. Emma is not happy That Harper Storm who put away a dirty cop from her station is called in with her partner Jill to assist in this man hunt. Audrey the medical examiner is also in this one. Old friends from past books. The more they learn the more puzzles they are. The silencer hasn’t followed his normal pattern. What reason was there for him to have to go from his norm. But he still didn’t heave them any prints or DNA to use to find him. You won’t want to put it down cant wait for the next in series to see where they go from here I received a early copy for a honest review

B. P. Stevens just keeps getting better and better at writing cliffhangers that keep the reader glued to the edge of their chair, turning the pages. The Silencer Series is his third series, and the best yet. First, there was the Hidden Memories Series, then the Curious Series. In both Hidden Memories and the Curious Series there were cops gone bad involved and this reader gets the firm impression that will be the case with Silencer too. Everything points to that. Detective Harper Storm and her partner Jill, who we first met in Hidden Memories, are back. This time they are lending Emma Pepper, an NYPD detective, a hand in bringing The Silencer to justice. In Silencer we have two very strong female detectives, both of them wanting to be the one that takes The Silencer down. The way this plays out between Emma and Harper will be interesting to watch.

Two for the price of one! Two of the top female investigators, working together to bring down the notorious serial killer, the Silencer, Emma Pepper and Harper Storm. Emma has a rare night out attending a city sponsored gala, when she spots a man running out of the ballroom covered in blood. She gives chase, thinking he is a killer. Instead he is just a thief, trying to rob a dead man; however, he did see the murder. The dead man was a writer. The team traces him to a downtown hotel only to find all his electronics, writings, etc. crushed, burned, soaked with water and then soaked with bleach. What was the killer hiding? Could he be the silencer? Before the team can catch their breath, there's another murder. Stay tuned! Jean ARC team

The story is full of action from the very beginning, with only the details needed to take the reader through the storyline included. This makes for a quick, page-turner that keeps the reader enthralled. The author used a short, crisp style of writing which keeps the reader focused on the theme of the detective, Emma Pepper, and her team chasing the a murderer designated The Silencer with the help of another detective, Harper Storm, and her team. The story grabs readers from the beginning and takes them straight through to the end with no confusing extraneous details." I received an ARC and this is my honest review of this novelette.

Emma didn’t tell people she was a cop, it might be easier if she did
Instead she was known for wearing flats with an evening gown, with a gun in her purse, along with a radio. She never knew when she’s be chasing someone.
She was good at her job determined to catch the killer. Seems as though the killer has changed his tactics and now out for blood.
Note..continues in the next book..Given ARC for my voluntary review

B.P. Stevens never disappoints. Emma Pepper is a NYPD Detective. The serial killer known as The Silencer, hasn't killed for years; but has he struck again? Emma is hooked up with Harper Storm to investigate, their is little to no evidence. They story ends with a cliffhanger and another body! Loved the plot, great setting, and strong interesting characters. Can't wait for the next book in the series!!

Way too short of a story. I read it in less than an hour. It feels more like a part of a book, not the whole thing. Plenty of action and NYPD hunting for a serial killer they call "The Silencer", but too short to really get into the story. No sooner does it get interesting and then it's done. It would have been better with just a little more to the story, even though it is a part of a series. Ends in a cliff hanger.

I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Interesting character interaction and investigative problem solving as they try to anticipate the Silencer's next move and stop the killing. The answers to their questions are left til the next book (or the next) as cliffhangers finish out this book. There are many questions to be answered going forward.

Emma a NYPD detective thinks she is in charge of finding the elusive ‘Silencer’ and is upset when her boss calls in help from an out of town police force which includes Harper.
Excellent storey line with good characters. Would have prefered to have read one book instead of waiting for the next book.

A good start to the series, with some old characters emerging. I found the majority of the story a bit slow on action, but also having multiple inputs from the various characters makes you think 'who is on the right track? ' Worth the read to get some feel for this new series.

NYPD detective Emma Pepper’s new case is against a serial killer nicknamed The Silencer. Clues are discovered and the teams pursues each one to try to stop the killer, but it isn’t straight forward. I love the way they work together with each lead and track it as far as it will go. The case has to break at some point but it’s a windy trail. I will definitely continue reading books from this author. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

Emma Pepper is a good NYPD detective and the new case which had a serial killer called the “Silencer” gets her interested and keen to find him. Her boss calls in Harper Storm from a small town police force to help them. After chasing a man Emma thought was a killer when interrogated tells her that there is a man covered with blood on the rafters of the Grand Ballroom. He had been a journalist and looked like the Silencer was after journalist or columnists. A very exciting finish. I am on the ARC team and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.

Hunt Down: An Absolutely addictive crime thriller with a jaw-dropping twist: Emma Pepper book 1, my thirteenth read from author B.P Stevens. A 62-page read that I finished it in less than an hour. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Emma may have ruined her dress, but she did get a refund on her ticket!!! The Silencer seems to be one step ahead of them at all times. I almost think The Silencer is... Oh, well, I guess that I will have to wait for the next book in this series. I enjoyed this story and recommended the book.

I thought this book was excellent. It was really easy to get into and 'unputdownable'.

The main character is strong, intelligent, intuitive and above all, extremely likeable.
She interacts easily with the other detectives in her team but has a highly analytical brain which is constantly picking up details that don't fit.

The action starts very quickly but as it unfolds it becomes clear that what seemed like a clear cut case is in fact anything but.

There are many undercurrents there which are waiting to make themselves felt.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this exciting, well written and intense series,
