Powerlessness: Passion for the Possible

Rate this book
"I've had it, enough is enough," plus similar expressions are examples of the powerlessness we feel at times. Yet if we have a deep faith in Jesus we'll be able to counteract those and similar statements and possess a passion for the possible. For many people patience has worn thin. Many are ready to call their marriage a failure. Homemakers are climbing the domestic walls and chomping at the bit because of taxing burdens in raising children. The skyrocketing of gas and food prices has left a domino effect on society. Some people find their jobs boring and routine. Single parents find pressures mounting in their lives and wonder when the lid will blow off. People going through divorce will admit the experience can be worse than death. Some find their commitment to Christ extremely challenging especially if they want to act as a counterculture to our secular society. Others are caught in a whirlwind of activity preoccupied with so many plans, projects and programs. Life has become meaningless for them and they feel discouraged and powerless. This book is for people who are weighed down by musts, shoulds, and oughts that they lose sight of Christian goals and values.
