Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.

Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.

Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.

According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.

Make way for Noddy for here he comes again! This time he is dealing with the troublesome Bouncy Balls, who, on a sunny morning in Toy Town (isn't it always sunny in Toy Town?), bounce into town to the consternation of Mr Plod who screams out, 'Bounce alert! Bounce alert!' Noddy does not understand the phrase!

Dinah Doll, who just previously has had a run-in with those nasty goblins Sly and Gobbo, advises Noddy to get inside as she races towards Mr Sparks' garage for safety. Big-Ears, who is reading outside, hears the commotion and he, too, dashes inside. The goblins ask Big-Ears if they can join him inside but Big-Ears refuses, so Sly and Gobbo dash off to Town Square.

Meanwhile the balls arrive, 'Boing! Boing! Boing!' But one of them, a little blue ball, could not bounce like the others so Noddy takes pity on him and decides to call him Tiny. Noddy even makes up a song for Tiny and plays with him while the Bouncy Balls chase Sly and Gobbo all the way out of Toy Town.

Sly and Gobbo sneak back and play a trick on the Bouncy Balls and then them capture them in a net. Tiny manages to squeeze through the net and alerts Noddy and Mr Plod and they go and, with some help from Tiny, rescue and free the Bouncy Balls.

Then the Bouncy Balls once more chase Sly and Gobbo out of Toy Town!

Just a fun story, or just another exciting day in Toy Town!
