The contract law course is primarily a case–method course. This edition is founded on the confidence that introductory law study built around the study of case decisions remains a sound and progressive teaching tool. While contract law is predominantly common law, the influence of statutes, codes and international conventions grows rapidly. This edition continues the practice of its predecessors by introducing the student to relevant sections of the Uniform Commercial Code at appropriate points in the text.
