Forms of sexual desire and expression are legion. The Kama Sutra outlines one method of sexual expression that involves the mutual caressing of bare feet. It is called “Sampada†or “equal feet.†Kevin Bach, an aspiring young singer, and several members of his family are involved in this particular expression of desire and it dominates their actions and relationships. Sampada is set in the American South and, along with its plot, exploits a commonly held belief that the entire region is permeated with an undercurrent of inbreeding and incest.
