Contains patterns for making pieced-block quilts for quilters who use both old patterns and modern rotary-cutting techniques, and provides advice for planning and assembling the quilt.
Judy Hopkins is a prolific quiltmaker and the author of five That Patchwork Place titles. She has also coauthored three books, including the bestseller 101 Fabulous Rotary-Cut Quilts.
This is a great book for anyone who likes to make quilt blocks. It is one of the two follow up books to the original Judy Hopkins book, Around the Block. There is a short section of the blocks in color, which is followed by rotary cutting directions for the blocks (pictured at the front of the book) in a variety of sizes. The sizes range from 4" or 6" to 12" or 14". The sizes of the blocks vary depending on the geometry of the block. Highly recommended for every quilt bookshelf.
The first book in this series is a favorite source of patterns, and so is this one, but.... Instead of listing the measurements of common blocks, like a 2-5/8" square it will say T1 or some such and you have to look in the back to figure out what size this is. I hate templates! It was a much better format in the first book.
