Wow this books is makes me so understand with what happen actually in Macbeth story. Stupid Macbeth that believes what his wife told to and everything is ruined. Love the retold and illustration within the books! :)
While I haven’t read any actual plays by Shakespeare himself, I read kids versions (hehe). Macbeth would have to be my favourite, im not going to talk about the others as much. But I personally love stories were the main character slowly goes insane, and macbeth had that just right. In my kids versions I wish it had gone into more detail about Macbeths and lady Macbeths guilt and the effect their crimes had on them. But that’s simply because I read a kids version. I am more motivated to actually give the proper play a go now though. Of course Romeo and Juliet is a beloved classic by all, and such a good forbidden love story with great characters and suspense all through out. The tempest and midnight summers dream are not my favourite to be honest. I love how whimsical and fantastical they are and I think it was such a creative idea especially for Shakespeares time. However this is more of a personal preference but with midsummers, I found all the mix ups and mistakes frustrating, which I know that is the whole plot and makes it fun, but I personally just didn’t find it entertaining. Also with the tempest I just didn’t get attached to any of the characters. I found it annoying that Antoni, the guy who originally sent the old man away on an island, got off scott free. The king took all the blame when it wasn’t entirely all him. Overall I just didn’t enjoy that story as much.
I absolutely agree with your thoughts on Macbeth—it's such a powerful and intense play! The themes of ambition, guilt, and fate really make it stand out, and I think Shakespeare’s portrayal of Macbeth’s internal conflict is just brilliant. As a student currently studying this play, I’ve found that diving into the historical context and understanding the psychological depth of the characters really adds to the experience. recently came across detailed macbeth essays that broke down the key themes and character motivations in a way that really helped me understand the play better. If you’re interested, it might be a good read: Macbeth Essay. It gave me some fresh insights that I hadn’t considered before.
It’s definitely one of those classics that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading it!
This is a nicely done children's version of William Shakespeare's play MacBeth. I like the illustrations too which are also well done and very appropriate for the age of the book's intended readers. The language is easy and clear to read and captures all the craziness of the play with without a lot of gore.
Blev pisket igennem original udgaven af Macbeth i engelsk på højniveau i 3. g. Har aldrig brudt mig synderligt om historien -- men endnu en fin genfortælling, der får det væsentligste med.
