Overall, the two stories in this combined set are definitely worth the read. (Winter Passing and Blue Night)
My biggest quibbles are a couple of small things.
In Blue Night, the city of Corvallis, Oregon, is consistently misspelled as Corvalis. Innsbruck, Austria, is described at one point as a village, yet the city has had a population of over 100,000 since 1961. Sorry, but villages don't have that many people, nor do they have an airport which you can fly into.
I guess that is "artistic license".
However, if any of the major places in the book could be called a "village", it would be Cottonwood, California, which I don't think qualifies as a village, either (nor was it described as such).
Okay, done quibbling.
As I said, the stories were generally good reads, filled with a lot of historical background and word-pictures of fantastic scenes.
