What do you do when, although you are praying to God for the blessed life, life doesn’t always turn out the way you expect? The fact of the matter is that times of trial may well be the best of times in light of all God wants to accomplish in the lives of those who love Him. Nowhere in the Bible is this principle seen more clearly than in the Book of Job. "Shall we accept good things from the hand of God and not anything bad?" Job once asked his wife. Out of the Whirlwind explores this question and all of its implications. In the end and total, God is good.
This book sat on my bookshelf for well about 2 decades before I finally decided to read! I have read many books on suffering; this one rates among the best. It is biblical, pastoral, practical and easy to read. Loosely based to Job, the biblical character of the Old Testament of the Bible, Tabb examines many avenues related to the theme without trying to pretend that there are answers to every question on faith and suffering. The final paragraph is a good summary of much that is shared in the book:- - God sends good days. God sends bad. May we accept both graciously, with our focus on heaven. May our goal always be to glorify God on this earth. Only then will our influence truly expand, bringing more people closer to enjoying the grace we so often take for granted. Then our lives will have been truly blessed.
