Sierra Malone trusted the wrong man and now he's trying to kill her. After narrowly escaping Kevin Eason's brutal attack, Sierra leaves her home, her family, and everything familiar. She finds temporary shelter, but it provides little relief from her constant fear. Desperate and alone, she considers an offer of protection from a stranger--but she soon learns he's harboring a potentially deadly secret. Chase Price wants Eason behind bars, and he's willing to do anything to get him there, even if it means waiting for Eason to strike again. With an innocent life on the line, Chase sets out to finish this battle once and for all--but he soon learns guarding Eason's beautiful victim leaves him wanting much more than he anticipated.

Narrator was a bit too exuberant at times, but he did an okay job.
Liked the suspense and the overall premise of this story. Sierra gets a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend; he doesn’t take it well and almost kills her, but she gets away. She’s in hiding and fearing for her life. When she meets Chase, she feels like she’s met someone who can protect her, but their meeting wasn’t by chance. Chase has is own reasons for wanting Sierra’s ex taken out.
They way they meet is sweet, and both are people you can root for. Liked how protective Chase is; he’s a good guy. Story moves a little slowly, but it’s entertaining. Not quite my style of writing, but overall I found the story interesting.
This is a suspense novel from a new-to-me author. A very nice blend of suspense and romance. I really liked the suspense part of the story. The romance part felt a little bit too much like "love at first sight" to be entirely realistic. Intrigue, twists, and turns throughout the story kept me glued to the book. Charming characters--the beautiful Sierra, and the ruggedly handsome Chase. I knew from the start they would fall in love, and I enjoyed hearing the sequence of events it took for them to get there. I received a complimentary audio copy of this book, the review expressed here is my own entirely.
I enjoyed listening to this book, the story had good pace and was interesting, if a little predictable at times. The mystery, suspense and romance came together well, and I liked the faith elements in the story. I received a free audio copy of this book from Pelican Book Group in return for an honest review.
Sierra was in a bad situation and she ran. Meeting Chase who was set on revenge. A good suspense with some twist. They both learned about trust and trusting that God was in control. Good plot and liked both of the characters, believable and flawed. Narration added to the suspense. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
Ooo I love the intrigue in this one! They way she meets Chase then to find out things changed later. Great introduction! I loved Sierra and Chase. That Kevin though ....he is just scary. I really enjoyed this one. The story was great and filled with action. The characters were enjoyable. I did listen on audio and the narrator, Chase Johnson, was amazing! I loved all his different voices.
Sierra fell for the wrong man. She is in a deadly chase to stay alive and far from where h might find her to kill her. Chase wants this man Eason behinds bars for reasons I won’t disclose. He wants to do everything to help Sierra stay safe, but at what cost?
Sierra was in a bad relationship that only got worse. When her life was threatened she ran. She ran across the country trying to hide from her ex-boyfriend whom she had a restraining order out on. But a piece of paper could not protect her. He was going to kill her.
When she feels she is being followed one night and then a vehicle tries to run her down, she meets a homeless man who offers his protection. Little does she know who Chase Price really is. There are issues that cause her to run from Chase also, but eventually he wins her trust and they work together to bring an end to her terror and endangered life.
Chase has his own reasons for offering Sierra his protection and as time goes on, his feelings for her grow intense. She helps him realize that God has always been there for him and that he needs the connection to God to get him through day to day life.
I loved this story and am glad I finally got around to reading it. It's been on my TBR list a few years.
I liked this book pretty much. The story was gripping and thrilling until the very end. The only downer was the unrealistic end. Sorry I cannot imagine any woman with such a traumatic past to become engaged after what less than two week of knowing a man - even if he saved her live.
