My students and I started looking at some nonfiction passages and books this week. I've found animals to be one of the most enjoyable nonfiction topics for students, so I went to the library looking for some animal books. Knowing that one of my students is very interested in rabbits, I selected a few books specifically on rabbits, and he picked this one from among those. The book is easily readable, and accessible to beginning readers. The illustrations are photos of actual rabbits, and they correspond to the facts given in the text. The book is filled with interesting facts about rabbits. I highly recommend this book for beginning readers interested in rabbits, as a read aloud, as part of a science unit about animals, or for parents and children to read in their home.
