China, with over one billion people, is the most populated country in the world. China's most famous tourist attraction is the Great Wall, which runs across about 5,000 miles of northern China. Rich with Chinese culture, this title explores Chinese food, holidays, and daily life. Eager readers will also get to challenge their tongues with a few common words from the unique Chinese language!
I was reading "China" for an overview of this , the most populous country in the world. There are a couple of regions which are not really Chinese. They are Tibet and the northwestern part of China, where people called the Uihghars live. Also, in that area is the huge and dry Gobi Desert. The Han are the majority of the Chinese people. A couple of animals that make China famous are the red panda and the giant panda. The Great Wall is an important part of the protection in the early days but some areas are falling into disrepair. Shanghai is an important port on the east coast of China. Beijing is its capital.
32 pages. Another great book in the Exploring Countries series. Format and information is excellent. Great photos, charts and additional information at the end. Great job! Highly recommended Gr. 4 and up.
I always forget that ping pong 🏓 is an Olympic Sport. The Winter Olympics are coming up, it is always interesting to see super strengths in certain countries.
