History's Greatest Warriors is a great series. I encouraged my son to read "Ninjas" and "Samurai" at the same time because both warriors used similar weapons and came from the same area. The pictures are great and the text is easy to read. This is a great 4th-grade level NF book; especially for boys.

My 5-year-old son wanted to learn more about ninja and this book was just right for him. It's a history lesson appropriate for young children that traces the history of the ninja from the 1100s to the last was the ninja fought in 1638. The book talks about ninja training, roles, weapons, and gear, and the decline of the ninja.

Read with my 6yo son. Interesting book (~10 min read) and he loved looking up the glossary words, but a bit too graphic in my opinion for young kids despite the fact that it is written for young kids.
