This book taught me a lot about the country of Morocco in north and west Africa. I knew it had part of the Sahara in it, the world's largest desert. I see that it is highly Muslim. Algeria and Western Sahara are the two countries that border it. France used to have Morocco as a colony. They have white, tree-climbing goats. Along the coast there are marshes which provide birds a sanctuary. Most of the people are dark-skinned and are of Arab or Berber origin. People there have been growing and eating dates for 5,000 years.
Their favorite sport is soccer. They also have camel racing. They enjoy hot tea and "mechoui," which is lamb roasted on a spit.
