Adam Exx is in a packed commuter train going to work. As the carriage enters the underground city loop, everything stops. The lights go out, the train rolls to a halt. In the total darkness there's no sound, no hint of life. The girl sitting next to Adam won't speak. There is no movement in the eerily quiet train. Is the problem with Adam or the passengers around him? As Adam's life unravels, the life he knew is abandoned and a new world is revealed. Where he is and what he is will never be the same again. If you think you know how your world came to be, and if you assume that your surroundings are real, think again. In a thrilling start to the Adam Exx series, Genesis questions everything about Adam's life, and our own. This book took me on a twisting, winding ride. I was genuinely curious and in the dark about what was causing Adam Exx's blackouts where everything around him stops. Usually I'm able to guess the ending, or the reason that things are happening, but not in this one. It was refreshing. The writing was expertly done and the pace kept me hooked all the way through. Each blackout was filled with tension as Adam tries to experiment and piece more clues together about what is happening to him. This experimentation lands him in an asylum, which he breaks out with some help. But it only gets better, and more shocking, from there. Great story!

An awesome book, a little bit of a spin-off of The Matrix, but a little more existential and jarring. It's Sci Fi, sprinkled with some thriller titbits and some action.

My favourite part of this book, though, is how fast paced it is. A great, on the edge of your seat, read. Highly recommend!
