I struggled to find any humor in this book, and the plot quickly became boring. My only reason for seeing it through to the end was pure stubbornness.

Fun and fast, these books are light, quick reads. I'm just now finished book 2, so I've realized that there's NO science fiction here, and very, very little fantasy. But it's just good fun, and each story takes you back to the old pulp adventure stories.

I can just imagine Renick having a great time while writing this, so I'm pleased that I'm likely getting just as much enjoyment reading these as he did writing them.

Well done, sir. More, please...

The Right Reverend Honorable Doctor Lucifer Jones returns for a series of madcap adventures (pardon me, -exploits-), in Asia that result in him being banned from the continent. Very fast-paced and good-hearted comedic fare lampooning cliches such as Charlie Chan, Fu Manchu, Shangra-La, the Yeti, etc. Lots of laughs!

Another fun, hilarious adventure series, this time in Asia, instead of Africa, with the industrious scoundrel Lucifer Jones. Pure fun from Resnick's admitted "favorite creation." Book 2 of 4. Highly recommended. Totally tongue in cheek escapism. Light reading. Absolute fun.

I enjoyed the first book, but I'm half-way through this one, and I'm simply bored. The humor isn't funny, and the plots are ploddingly predictable. I dont' know why this book is so disappointing, compared to the first one, but I'm done with Mr. Jones.
