Hell's Karma

Rate this book
Karma –
I always thought that I was broken, bad, unworthy. Growing up the way I did made that the only way to see myself. Then I met Val. She showed me how wrong that was. She helped me. Falling in love with her was as easy as breathing.

When I woke up in Hell, however, it seemed to prove that I had been the one who was right all along. Or did it? Maybe Hell wasn’t so bad. Here, I had a demon, reaper, and the devil himself all vying for my attention, AND they were even bonded to me. Couldn’t say that I hated that either.

But what about Val? Was I just supposed to forget her and the short time we had together? Why was being dead so complicated?

Eniah, Xinos, Lucifer –
From the moment Karma entered our realm, we knew we would be forever changed. We just didn’t know by how much. This woman was quickly becoming the center of everything. Two of us found their missing third and the King of Hell had found his queen.

Karma was a part of Hell, and we were never letting her go.

Val –
When a cruel twist of fate took her away from me too soon, I was crushed. She told me not to follow her, and I kept my word. But come Hell or high water, I knew I would be with her again.

Tu vai, io vado, il mio sole . You go, I go, my sun.

Hailing from eastern Pennsylvania, R.A. Alyse is a lover of books that feature spicy romance. Although she has a soft spot for why-choose and omegaverse, she has dabbled in a few other sub-genres within her writing. She strives to fill those books with love, spice, magic, and maybe even a knot or two.

R.A. Alyse enjoys searching out yard sales, going bowling or playing games with her kids, and reading in her free time. Her favorite color is purple (any shade!) and her favorite flower is a sunflower. If she isn't hunched over her keyboard, feverishly trying to get more books written, you will most likely find her hanging out with her family and their growing of number of pets.

I got this book for free and I’m glad I didn’t spend a penny on it.
The plot is a bit boring and doesn’t really matter because the main point of those book is the relationships between characters.
I’d compare Karma to a cold unflavoured bowl of soggy cereal.
Lucifer seems like a puppy that besides the title of „king of hell” has nothing else. Oh and he does zero work, the hell just works on its own? He agrees to everything, becomes softie in 0.1s and has no personality besides being distant sometimes.
Eniah is introduced as reaper but she never ever actually does any work. Has exactly the same personality as her partner Xinos, no matter how much author wanted to make us believe they’re so different and unique. She can teleport I suppose? And has got 4 boobs.
Xinos is suppose to be a always-shirtless and shoeless demon who’s throwing cheeky one-liners and becomes a fluff around FMC. Both Eniah and Xinos are quite watered down, shaped to the moment/chapter purposes and can’t be really described better than „pudding personality”. I think Xinos is jobless, but makes no difference since it doesn’t appear there’s no economic structure in Hell anyway. Xinos’ biggest trait is having too schalongs sandwiched on top of each other.
Val had one moment of sanity when she said „(…) twenty-five years where I have mourned you, missed you, been unable to forget you, for you, it has been only a few weeks, maybe a month, and you have not only been thriving but have moved on and replaced me with not one but three other people?” but of course there’s been some *valid reasons* (there wasn’t, author decided Power of Love wins) made why this isn’t true and facts. Val had the most impact on the actual storyline which is thinner than one layered toilet paper. I liked her the most in the first collage chapters as she’s been basically created for the sake of „metamorphosis of MC” with quick BFF montage. Also Val added a „mafia” tag to this book which I’m not sure if it actually deserves since, besides wielding „respectful name in town” mafia, doesn’t really impact the overall life. Supposedly strong family, later taken over by Val to protect human trafficking but in reality author just wanted to make to badass females to show #girlpower and create some sort of bond between them. Some sort because it actually doesn’t matter since Val’s always loved Karma anyway.
Religious aspect is show weirdly here, as it’s made to believe Hell that Karma visits isn’t the only place of that kind as it depends on beliefs? It’s explained there isn’t one God; if someone’s Jewish, Muslim, any other religion, they will have their equivalent to what Karma has as Hell and Heaven. We’re being told there’s other gods and goddesses, INCLUDING Greek mythology gods. Besides this point, Karma was brought up in something that author calls „cult” since Karma has been exposed to heavy Christian community. Pretty much till the end we don’t know it was a cult who also had interest in illegal ways of making profit whenever they didn’t „brainwash” people. I beg to disagree as realistically in my opinion Karma’s trauma isn’t as heavy and dramatic as it is being portrayed. This opinion comes from a person who’s been born and raised in heavily Catholic country. I understand author dislikes religion communities or just Christianity but she doesn’t speak wrongly about any other religion. In no possible way I’m trying to defend any parties here, yet it made me feel a few times during this read that perhaps author had some unhealed traumas with the church and she poured all that hatred into the book.
Read as normal 40-50% of the book, fast read till 70% and then I just jumped between pages just reading dialogue to finish the book.
Smut? Yes, definitely, probably lots of people will love it but I discovered I am not interested in monster/demon smut so some chapters I skipped. And I Never.Skip.Smut.
I’d give it a 1* but everyone in Hell was vegan which was pretty cool, as in Satanism they encourage people to plant-based diet so maybe author did some homework.

I finished this in hours! I couldn’t put it down. It had twists and turns I wasn’t expecting, kept me on my toes, and the love 😍 you can’t go wrong with a “why choose” but a why choose where the main character is bi and has both genders as hers? Yes please!

For a book that seemed at times to give in to the spice, there was a surprising amount of plot and angst in this little erotic romance novel. Karma, nee Carmen, was raised in a deeply fundamentalist religious cult and finally managed to escape after college, where she met her best friend Val, whose family ties her into a dark criminal world she wishes to spare Karma from. Karma isn't having it. She secretly trains and becomes a dark avenger-type character, taking out baddies and rescuing innocents. "Where you go, I go," is the theme of their romance, although it takes Karma ten long years to finally call it what it is. Unfortunately, Karma's untimely death sends her to Hell before she and Val have a chance to spend a happy life together, and Karma gets a speedrun-introduction to demonic fated mates, of which she learns she now has three, one of whom is the King of Hell himself. All of this with a hefty dose of spice, naturally. It takes Val, shall we say, a little bit longer to come around to the idea, but there's a heartwarming HEA in the end, and it put a smile on my face. This book felt like a goddess origin story, like there is a lot more going on in this world and more stories to tell,

Wow, what a ride that was! To start, before anything else is said - I ADORED the themes of this book. As a bisexual polyamorous reader who was actively harmed by Christianity and purity culture and has since spent a long time deconstructing from that - the overall premise of this story was intriguing, healing, and honestly fantastic. Thanks to the author for writing this. 💋

Highlights for me:
• Bisexual characters with M/F, M/F/F, and F/F scenes.
• demons and Lucifer
• polyamory done well, with emotional processing
• a variety of spicy scenes with some lite k!nk and TAILS

What I struggled with:
• Pacing: this book is trying to do a lot and I feel like the cadence was off at times. It moved quickly through some key moments that might have benefited from some additional unpacking
• Dialogue: I would have liked to see a little more show instead of tell to make the whole book more immersive. This storyline is intriguing and I wanted to fall into the books and that was hard to do in some places.

All and all though? Well done. I recommend it and I'm grateful for Stuff Your Kindle Day for letting me get ahold of this.

So…I wasn’t a huge fan. I enjoyed this book. But only in parts. There were aspects about it that I loved and then parts that were a little cringe - for me. I’m sure there are 5 stars out there. And maybe you are one of those. But for me, I had to stop at 34%. The concept was good from what I could tell. I’m all for the FLF but the dominant FMC didn’t do anything for me. I’d have been fine if they were both fem. But the author just didn’t sell me on the morally grey. Then when the other FMC got to hell, I was lost. The demons I was picturing reminded me of Hell Boy and not scary or sexy. I had to stop. Idk. Maybe there’s a fantastic middle and ending to this that I missed out on? But I didn’t want to continue and possibly ruin my taste for this author. I’d like to give her another shot sometime.

Carmen was raised to be a God fearing good girl. No piercings, no tattoos, no cursing, no premarital sex, no homosexuality, no fun. When she meets Valentina and and slowly realizes she was raised in a cult she has a soul changing transformation and becomes Karma. After she finally accepts and acts on her feelings for her best friend Val she dies. But that is only the beginning of her story. When she dies and wakes up in hell she will truly start to live the life she was always meant for. As she finds she is bonded to a demon, a reaper, and Lucifer she still knows she won't be complete until she has Val again.
This is a true mixed harem poly romance where there is both MF and FF. 2 of Karma's partners are also together. This was a hot as Hell read that I couldn't get enough of! It is definitely worth reading and you should start it right now.

First off, read the CWs on the book!! This is a dark 😈 romance book. There is demon s3x, MF, FF, why choose, kn0tting, tail play (I didn't even know that was a thing, but HOT!), voyeurism, exhibitionist, if you name it, this book probably has it. R.A. does a great job of building you up, just to tear it all down, then building it up again, to tear it all back down. More than once I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. And of course because I'm a sensitive little cancer (🦀) I cried. Anyways read this book if you want to be Lucifers queen. HEA, btw. I gave it 5 stars and 4 peppers.

My first book by this author. More emphasis on relationships than the hierarchy of Hell. A F/F relationship within a Reverse Harem, which is unusual. Lucifer is not really evil and God is not that judgey, and actually cool. To an extent I can identify with the attempted religious brain-washing the heroine faces. People prefer to be sheep and take no responsibility for their actions.
Religion is man-made and in may cases have nothing to do with God.
If you're not open minded, please don't read this book.

Whew! What a Rollercoaster! Karma is full of surprises! (Yes pun intended!) You get a touch of so many things in this book. There's paranormal, fated mates, FF, FMF, MF, praise, crazy amounts of spice, betrayal, retribution, lost love, destiny, lucifer, demons, and even a double peen....yup you read that correctly! Your MFC starts out very sweet and almost meek, but by the end she IS karma and she will get justice for those who cannot, with all of her mates by her side.

Must read!

Disclaimer… I was an arc reader. I devoured this. I could not put it down. I felt all ranges of emotions while reading it. I laughed so hard that I may or may not have snorted. I also ugly cried. It was such a good read. There was a story behind the characters. There was character growth. There was spice… That being said, please make sure to read the content warnings. It’s not always pretty but boy is it good.

Well, I'll be damned. If the real karma is anything like this version, sign me up! Haha. On a more serious note, I enjoyed Hell's Karma very much. I haven't read anything like this in like a decade, so everything inside was a pleasant surprise. I'm a big POV-switching fan, so that was a large plus for me on this one. I love knowing what the other characters are thinking during their interactions. Overall, would deff recommend Hell's Karma.

H3ll of a book!!

This book was amazing!! I loved Karma and her bonded!! The storyline in this book was out of this world. I loved that it wasn't your typical heaven and h3ll we see in other books. This book does contain ff as Karma finds that she has feelings for not 1 female but 2 as well as a demon and Lucifer. Follow Karma as she awakens in H3ll for her journey to fight to finally live and love.

Karma

Carmen was brought up in a cult and she left it when she was eighteen. She lived with feeling less then whenever she tried something new. In college she meets Val and they become the best of friends. Carmen becomes Karma after joining Val’s family business. When tragedy strikes Karma must navigate through hell to find where she belongs. She is bonded to three mates in hell but her heart will always belong to Val first. Loved this story it was so twisted and amazing.

I loved this book! I loved Karma & Val’s relationship to start it was so good for her. & then she loses it suddenly & is sent to hell. Where she meets 3 men who claim to be her fated mates. As it turns out Val’s also one, but the guys are amazing. Even though they are great & she’s really starting to fall for them she can’t get over or forget Val. I so want more! I absolutely loved it. I loved the spice & her relationships with everyone. Perfect ending. Highly recommend!!

I absolutely devoured this book! Hell's Karma hosts amazing characters, a ton of spice, and excellent world building. Carmen was raised by her grandmother and spent most of her childhood in a cult. She was taught that if she was not perfect she was hell bound. After her grandmother passed she escaped. She went to college, formed relationships, changed her name to Karma, and completely transformed her life. She became a complete baddie! But the next thing she knows she is in Hell. She finds that what she was taught may not be true. This book involves a multitude of relatio ships including MF, FF, FMF, and FFM. Val is absolutely amazing and was the original person to get Karma to come out of her shell and embrace who she really is. Eniah and Xenos already had a relationship but they both completely embraced Karma. They were patient with her and let her do things at her own pace. And of course there is Lucifer. He is chef's kiss! Karma has amazing chemistry with all her loves. I can't reccomend this book enough! Make sure you check the trigger warnings first though.

This book is soul gripping and hooked me right from the page one till the perfect end.
A tale of love, fated mates, with so many twists that keep you breathless.Karma has a heart breaking background in a religious cult and struggles daily with lots of stuff but she will have her happy ending with three hot demons, one is Lucifer himself. The steam between them is out of the charts!

More Spice than plot but still fun

This was my first book by this author and I saw it advertised on Instagram I think. It's a fun read but you should go in expecting tons of fire but not necessarily much character build out assign from the female lead. It was refreshing to see a reverse harem that isn't entirely men.

Wow!

This was really unexpected. I loved the book even though I was confused with the few first chapters. They were so short that I thought I missed something. Still I’m happy I read the book. It was an entertaining read from first to finish. I would recommend for the author to explain about why the first chapter is short.

What a great storyline. Enlightening and brilliant in every sense. It breaks down the to every emotion. Love is love and that although beings love differently, with respect, communication and compassion you can truly find a HEA.

I liked it

Very different from what I’ve been reading lately but it was good , I feel like the plot could’ve been a little more developed as far as how the time line works and things like that so 3/5 for plot but 5/5 spicy scenes
