(Gasp) I Have an Idea!

Rate this book
As I get older it has become evident to me that the hours of special activities as kids were much more than simply fun. I am so thankful for the gift of creativity and spirit of wisdom that God has given my mom, which have infused our home with joy while instilling truth and deep values built on a love for Christ and the family...Genevieve This book is an example of a wonderful woman living life to the fullest and embracing all opportunities. My mother finds joy in the little details of life and is a constant source of incredible creativity. My best ideas stem from watching her truly inspiring life... Alexandra We didn't have the chance to be bored as kids. My mom was always thinking up something to not only keep our attention, but also to enrich our lives. She always ran a God-honouring household that nurtured us kids in all the necessary ways... Jamison This book serves as a great reminder of what a blessing Mom has been to us growing up; never overlooking a moment to teach us with wisdom and creativity through activities, snacks, gifts or e-mails... continually encouraging us to pursue the Lord in all things... Brooklynne Stephanie loves her husband Ron. A lot. She's wildly in love with their four children, and new son-in-law. She's always loved being a stay-at-home mom and still does, even though there are no longer any children in their home! She loves being in her homey kitchen in Regina, Saskatchewan. She loves reading her Bible and having quiet time with the Lord. She loves her girlfriends, the food channel and golfing. She loves to be on vacation. And as for Jesus, she can't put into words how much she loves Christ, who is her life. Photo by Carey Shaw www.careyshaw.com

I’ve been reading a few pages of this before bed at night. Super inspiring in two main ways:
-it’s a book about finding creative ways to bless others, so it helps me think about what concrete actions I can take in my life to treasure my family and other relationships
-the attitude of the author is so joyful, content, gracious (so full of the fruit of the Spirit) that it inspires me to think about how I could emulate that attitude and speak life into the people around me.

Often I don’t like when authors present such an upbeat attitude, because in a self-help book setting it edges into toxic positivity. But I didn’t get that vibe from this book at all. Yes, the author can be almost obnoxiously positive, but I never felt that she was obnoxious. She just comes off as a very proud mom and grandma who’s certainly not perfect but manages to find such complete joy in her life and in Jesus.
