Seventeen character principles are drawn from these shows and examined, first by the cases that elicit them and then by the principles themselves. These cases are not about legal issues but more about principles of good and bad behavior. The judge shows are such delicious viewing because they display real life issues and people and explore their reasons for being in small claims court. These cases are wonderful examples of character issues because they show real behaving badly. We have much to learn from these judge shows. The Character Compass is both fun reading and thoughtful.
