Like earlier collections, the title, "Aspects Long Forgotten," is taken from a poem within. This book contains 51 poems and matching photographs in various classic poetic formats, and is the fifth book Jack has published, the fourth in paperback.Jack derives inspiration for poetry from his photographs. While traveling throughout his present home state, Jack visited many Kansas towns, lakes and rolling plains. There has been no shortage of photogenic views.Pictures were also taken in his home towns and during visits to Wyoming, Nevada, Western New York, England, and many places in between.
Jack was born in Southern California but now resides in Colorado with his wife, Nadyne, and their Cairn Terrier, Lucy. Jack has found a niche in the detective/mystery/crime/thriller genres with his Pat Ruger Mystery Series novels.
Jack has several books of poetry and photography on the market and has been a Staff Writer for Poetic Monthly Magazine. During his thirty years in IT, he has had many of his articles published in various print and web magazines and journals. His first poems were published when he was just 10 when two pieces submitted by a teacher were accepted by a literary magazine. Jack has since written poetry off and on throughout his life.
Jack began taking photos while in grade school with his first Brownie camera. It was given to him by his grandmother and used black and white film. As with his poetry, Jack prefers interesting takes on commonplace themes.
Another well written poem collection accompanied by very visual, colorful, meaningful photographs. I like the introduction explaining the numerous variations of poetry styles
The collection is a set of well written poems paired with photos taken by the author. Most of the poems are of traditional poetry formats, though a couple of the poems are of a style that Huber says he invented.
As a whole the collection is good. Its not the most emotion inducing set of poems. I was slightly disappointed that there were not more abandoned places that the cover photo and title hinted at. Over all I enjoyed the read.
