Daily Warm-Ups: Reading, Grade 1 from Teacher Created Resources

Short, high-interest reading passages can be a great way to start the school day or to fill in the gaps as needed. This teacher resource offers over 150 reading warm-ups. Each 10-minute warm-up consists of a nonfiction or fiction passage and 3 comprehension questions designed to assess students’ understanding of the reading material. I'm an Oregon-based author, journalist, and instructor for the MFA in Creative Writing program at Southern New Hampshire University. I live in Eugene with my husband and teen daughter, where I love to run and hike long-distance, cross country ski, kayak, cycle, cook, and roam the Pacific Northwest as an amateur naturalist.
