Une alliance & Une corde

Rate this book

Okay, you need to buckle up and get ready because this story is going to take you on one wild ride. The story starts out full force and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat and your heart beating fast. It's dark, it's intense and at times, I found myself screaming at my kindle. LOL Told in dual POV's, we get the story of Cristiano who is the Mafia king and is suppose to take out the Princess of a rival family, Scarlett, for past crimes against his family. Some are taken out but Cristiano decides to let Scarlett and her younger brother live for now. There are twists and turns all over and you never know who is good and who is bad. Ms. Knight is one of my favorite "mafia" authors and this story rocked. It is book 1 in a duet so be prepared for a heck of a cliffhanger. I keep staring at the calendar to see if it's time for book 2 because I really need to know what is going to happen. I will say there is one certain character I hope meets a brutal end!!! And I hope Scarlett is the one to end it! LOL And that's all I'm gonna say. Like I said, buckle up!!!!

I Take Thee

In part 2 of this duet, we find out just how strong Scarlett really is. She has endured so much and has remained strong. There were so many twists and turns to read and at times,I went back to make sure I completely understood what was happening. (I do this a lot. LOL) Secrets are revealed and Cristiano will have to own up to mistakes he's made.
There are some possible triggers in this story so be aware of that. This was a brilliant read and Ms. Knight continues to prove why she is one of my favorite authors for Mafia romance. Steamy, hot, crazy, dangerous, drama, it's all in here so buckle up and get ready for the conclusion.

If you love mafia romance with danger, suspense and mystery, this is a set you can't miss out on. You get both stories in the duet so there isn't any waiting for the ending!!

La conclusión fue un poco apresurada y faltaron detalles, pero aparte de eso, disfruté la lectura.

This set is the complete story of Cristiano Grigori and Scarlett De La Cruz.
Once again, a great mafia read that thanks to Natasha is a wild ride full of emotions.

This time, the Italian mafia meets a Mexican cartel in a story full of greed, unimaginable suffering and death. And just like with other Natasha's books we find ourselves in the middle of a years long feud between these 'family businesses' following a trail of lies, betrayal and blood.

Ten years ago, the Grigori family has been wiped out. Or so most people thought. So, when Cristiano and Dante, two brothers thought to be murdered along with everyone else, suddenly turn up only to start ticking off a long list of people who one way or another had a hand in the massacre of their family all those years ago, all their enemies go on high alert fearing for their lives - and rightfully so.

Cristiano was in coma for a long time after the incident but has been back for a while, laying low and keeping out of sight while plotting the plan for vengeance with his brother Dante.
They're out for revenge and everyone who was even remotely involved should think about quickly packing up and disappearing quietly somewhere far far away if they value their existence.

Scarlett isn't on the list, not per se. She is De La Cruz though, the cartel princess, a sister to the two cruel men behind the massacre. She's just a pawn to be used - she perhaps was not one to her father, but she definitely is one to her heartless brothers, to her twisted uncle; and now also to the ruthless stranger that comes to steal her away in order to use her in the vengeance against her own family.
But will she stay the pawn or will she re-emerge on the chessboard as the queen?

Scarlett never had an easy life. But ever since her two cruel brothers took over the family business it turned into a downright hell. So much so that ending her own life prematurely would feel like a sweet liberation from it all, if only it wasn't for her younger brother - an innocent boy as much in tow of all the events as she is. The only reason she keeps going is to protect him. Until Cristiano Grigori crosses her path..

Cristiano has been through hell himself and his only reason for being is revenge. It's his single motivation - meticulously planned out calculated violence. And there are no plans for 'after'.
Cristiano too only has one reason to live, his kind of suffering perhaps a bit different but no less profound. Except something happens when he finally has all the De La Cruz siblings in the cell of his basement, lined up to be executed, the end finally nearing.
Because to the surprise of all, two of the four siblings somehow walk out of that basement - if only on a borrowed time. And so things start changing for Cristiano too as we watch the riveting tale unfold.

Scarlett is kind and caring and warm, but also ferocious and completely selfless when it comes to protecting her little brother. Even at her young age she's been through so much she's far from naive, she has no illusions about the monsters whose cruel world she lives in, and she has her wits about her. She's a strong heroine and a perfect match for the dark, brooding Cristiano who could be giving out his charisma in spades and there would still be plenty left. He's just as caring and protective when it comes to those he considers his family, even hiding it as he sees it as a weakness.
They both have their demons and they both desperately need each other to free themselves off them.

An amazing read full of suspense and action. A bloody tale full of lies and betrayal. And so much trauma.
Will they suffer a slow painful death at the hands of their enemies knowing they're never to see their happily ever after together? Or can they overcome all that life has thrown at them? And will there be enough of them left to even want their happy ending if they do? Well:-)

Great story, certainly worth giving it a try, especially if you like this type of read, or any other of Natasha's books. The story itself is concise, well paced and well written. The descriptive writing builds the world vividly with just the right amount of details and it will draw you in. A few loose ends remain to be tied up in the story but for that we have another book with Dante and Mara. Looking forward to that one.

With This Ring

Christiano is head of a mafia family. He’s out for revenge for whoever had something to do with his family’s deaths, which Scarlett’s family had a hand in. He and his brother survived, which his enemies didn’t know until now. Scarlett is the daughter of the head of the Cartel, who died. She has an uncle and three brothers who were left in charge. She was in an arranged marriage with a man from a mafia family, and her family kept her prisoner until she married. This would strengthen both families. Christiano raided the tower she was kept in right before the wedding, took her and her brothers, two of which were very evil to an island where his family used to live. He killed the two evil brothers. She and her smallest brother are held prisoner there now. This is such a great start to the story of Christiano and Scarlett. They are enemies. There is also a repore’ between them. Lot of action, lots of anticipation, lots of anger, lots of darkness and lots of sadness. All I can say is that it’s an excellent, excellent story. Superb writing. Anyone who likes mafia romances, this ones for you. I know you’ll love it!

I Thee Take

This is a great conclusion to this story.

This is the continuing story of Cristiano & Scarlett. This book picks up where With This Ring left off with a cliffhanger. Christiano has many realizations of what happened in the past. Scarlett lives every day with fear of being in the Cartel all her life. This book is beyond great. All the twists and turns, all the steam, the changing of the characters feelings, what they go through together and separately, the other characters involved and all the revelations make for one great book. I rate the writing of Natasha Knight an A+. It is that good. If you like mafia stories, this Duet is for you.

First things first, Natasha Knight's books aren't for everybody. Her characters tend to live in a violent reality. Even the "good guys" aren't really good guys.

I struggled to get through these 2 books. I think it was because some of the plot was too predictable. I also think I was starting to get burned out on all the violence & deviant secondary characters. Anyhow, I am taking a break from Natasha Knight.

Christiano and Scarlett's story

It's a good story and keeps your interest from beginning to end. It's a story between the grigori's and the del a Cruz families. Massacres and assassinations brings war between the families. Christiano survives his mass families murders to come back and avenge his family. Whoever was left within the family he has to make sure he can trust them and as the story unfolds he finds that the people he trusted are not as they seem.
