I loved reading about a team that has nothing but support for each other and undivided friendships.

The Complete Screech Owls 2 was an incredible set of stories. In the first one, Kidnapped in Sweeden, the Owls visit Sweeden for a hockey tournament, and get to practice with the great NHL all star player Borje Salming. One day, Travis, the main character, and his friend Nish get kidnapped by Russians who were also there for the hockey tournament. The boys eventually found a way to escape, and also win the tournament! The criminals who kidnapped them were caught. In the second book, the Owls visit Florida for a hockey tournament. They go to Disney World, and go camping and swimming. Nish also finds a cool pair of x-Ray glasses to play with along the trip. Travis also finds out at Disney World a plot to threaten the world! In the end his team wins the tournament and backfires the plot. In the third story, the Owls visited Quebec City, and are ready to play in the world's best hockey tournament! After one of their games, a journalist claims that Travis said something bad about the city, and the news spread. Now at every game the Owls played, the fans booed. Later on in the book, they find out that it was all a lie, and the Owls are redeemed. The Owls make it far in the tournament, but unfortunately come up short. Lastly, in the fourth book, the Screech Owls' home town Tamarack is covered in snow in the middle of winter, and Travis feels joy. He has a tournament in his home town, and he can play with his best friend, Nish. But when on of Travis' teammates gets hit by a truck and gets seriously injured, that all changes. His teammate, Data, can't play hockey ever again. The Owls become furious, and want to find out where the crimianl is in Tamarack. In their tournament, they lose a very important game, and become even more furious. Eventually, the Owls catch the crook, and find a way to get back in the tournament. This series of books was nerve racking, interesting, and I could not ask for anything better! I can't wait to read the third volume!

These are great chapter books for kids who like Hockey!! What fun books with mysteries that are appropriate for kids 9 and up!

Each book has a an exciting hockey game and a mystery to solve. The characters in the books are very relateable for kids of this age and engaging. I love that their are both boys and girls on the team and they all contribute!

The stories also contain lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship and friendship! Terrific lessons for all kids!

There are a few times when I thought the content was a bit off for the age, but then when you compare it to modern video games, movies and tv shows, it was mild. Kids today are ages ahead of their past counterparts and these books reflect that.

Hockey fans will find a lot to love here. The play-by-play is really fun to read even for non-sporties like myself.

Cover Art - Eye catching and easy to tell the theme of the books.
