A Story of God's Unconditional Love With joy and confidence taken from her at a young age, she wondered if Jesus loved her. Hurt became her closest friend. Convinced she was an outcast and wouldn't amount to anything, she quit trying to fit in-- and lost all hope of having a fulfilling life.
As a teenager, she rebelled against authority and societal norms. She struggled with low self-esteem, alcohol abuse, and fear of speaking. At age eighteen, Furman married her husband Jim. Within their first three years, they had three children. Life became overwhelming. A horrific accident and two failed marriages deepened her sense of confusion and unworthiness. She divorced Jim twice, but he felt called to pray for her and wait for her to come home. As a result, he committed to love her the way Jesus loves her--unconditionally.
Real. Amazing. Encouraging. It is Well With My Soul is a powerful story about the challenges Furman has faced in her life. While facing depression, abuse, grief and sickness, she continued to trust God. He kept talking to her and guiding her. She changed so many lives and showed people how Jesus loves them no matter what. It truly is an amazing story of how he doesn’t give up on us. I’m thankful I was able to be a part of her journey. Always proud of you, Grandma ❤️
What a beautiful story of encouragement! Remembering to seeking the Lord always and a reminder that the Lord is alway there during every trial and challenging moment in our lives. The Lord works all things for good. He can turn really trying times into something beautiful if we allow Him to work in our lives and seek Him. This earth is our temporary home. Thankful for the hope in Jesus! This book was very encouraging to me and will be to others as well.
The author, Barb Furman, is a friend of our family. Her daughter let me know about her book and I was happy to read it. If you have ever felt like you weren’t on the right path in life or questioned your faith or God’s plan for you, then I highly recommend Barb’s book. Her faith journey was a rocky one, full of mistakes, shortfalls, and wrong turns, but I can honestly say she is one of the strongest and Godliest women I know. She has come through on the other side with God right next to her. She hasn’t had it easy and yet, every day she wakes up praising Jesus. Her memoir is short and I wish there was “more”, but there is a lot to learn from Barb and her strong faith in our Savior.
