I first read this series when I was the intended reading age group, so I was curious to see if I liked it as much now, or if it's strictly an age thing; however, I still found it clever and interesting. Thomas is a sympathetic character, even with being annoyingly smart (think Artemis Fowl level brains, but in medieval England) and his struggles for justice, while being surrounded by multiple mysteries that he has to work through or risk the destruction of all he holds dear form a great overall story.

Brouwer handles a lot of great subjects in this series, including religion (both at the time and now), rulers and when they give up the right to rule and ambition. If you ever wished for an Artemis Fowl book that didn't rant about the environment, had an overall Christian worldview, and was set in historical times, Winds of Light fits the bill!

I enjoyed this book very much. I don't usually like short books because they are always over way to fast but I think that this series goes at the perfect pace! I couldn't stop reading!! I enjoy each book in this series and I definitely recommend it to people who enjoy fantasy, the mid evil time, Christian books, and adventures. You will not be disappointed!

A true adventure story on a children's scale. In the few short pages, Brouwer manages to flesh out the characters and make them believable and memorable. The story was exciting and the suspense and unexpected twists kept me from being able to put the book down.
