Surrounded by Mercy is the 6th book in the Miracles & Mysteries of Mercy Hospital fiction series. When an expectant mother arrives at Mercy Hospital in search of her missing husband, Evelyn and her friends agree to help her find him. Their one clue is a postcard depicting the Mercy Angel statue telling the soon-to-be mother that her FBI-agent husband was in Charleston recently. But everything changes when the baby arrives early—and the absent father is accused of embezzlement. Meanwhile, Evelyn is digging into one of the Civil War’s most famous events, the Combahee River Raid led by none other than Harriet Tubman. The role of a valiant river pilot has long been obscured in the mists of history. Can Evelyn prove his heroism so he can be added to a local museum’s list of Freedom Fighters?

She loves walking in the woods, kayaking on quiet ponds, trying new recipes, and feeding family and friends.
An expectant mother is at the hospital looking for her husband who has disappeared. Evelyn is looking into the lost records of a civil war hero who is being left out of the exhibit on the Raid let by Harriet Tubman. This was something I had never heard about and it was interesting to read the author’s note at the end.
As usual the stories of Mercy Hospital are always intriguing. I love the ladies and all the help they provide to the patients. This was definitely a page turner for me and I couldn't wait to see how they were going to solve the mystery of the missing husband.
