a snarky dark romance with a sassy mafia heiress & an obsessed enemy

🖤This is a dark mafia romcom full of delicious banter, with a sassy mafia heiress and an obsessed billionaire.
🔞Emilee might make you laugh-out-loud, but make no mistake: this is a high-heat dark romance with plenty of spice and violence.

My favorite quotes:
I couldn't hate her when she smelled like an angel, fucked like a demon, and smiled like she was the reason the sun rose.

He bit my bottom lip, and I was pretty sure my ovaries just fangirled and tried to eject my IUD.

She was my light, and I was her moth, and I reached for her.

What it is about:
A young woman takes over her family’s criminal empire and must navigate dangerous waters while dealing with a vengeful enemy, seeking control of her company.

What I loved:
🪢their push-and-pull
🤣the delicious banter
🔥her fierceness; she is lethal enough to take over the family business whilst simulteanously being clueless on how to actually run it🤣
🖤and he is obsessed with her despite of it (or because of it? 👀)

What you need to know:
🫂dual POV
🔪dark mafia romcom
🤬enemies-to-lovers
🤣full of delicious banter
💒arranged marriage
🔥sassy FMC
🖤OTT obsessesive and possesive MMC
🦋he calls her Butterfly
❤️HFN, stories continues in Toxic Things I Love About You

This was fantastic! Check your triggers but it wasn't as dark as I was prepared for. The sassy FMC and arrogant touch her and unalive vibed MMC are like chocolate coveredpotato chips.....sounds weird but they just work perfectly! Her sparky remarks and his possessive alphahole demeanor made the spice spicier and the violence brighter! I can't wait for book 2!

This book was just meh the entire time. The steamy scenes were steamy but other than that I was thinking “wtf” the whole time. Definitely not worth the read unless MAYBE if you are trying to get into darker romance but idk. Not worth it in my opinion

HOW TO LOSE A PSYCHO: A Dark Romance
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶🌶

If you like your leading ladies full of sass, strong willed, and a little unstable this is the book for you! I picked this up on Monday, 4 days ago - I certainly wasn’t expecting to finish and have a review ready to go, but I just couldn’t put it down.

The story starts with Emilee, the pink power suit queen. We learn that her father has recently disappeared and she’s now sitting in on board meetings trying to learn the family business. From the start Emilee is strong willed and refuses to be caged, she wants to spread her wings and fly.

Then we have Roman, a smart, calculated businessman who has a vendetta against Emilee’s family. Roman is looking for any opportunity for revenge and has a feeling that with Emilee’s father out of the picture he’ll be able to get it.

Once Emilee and Roman cross paths the chemistry is undeniable. I found the way Chelle wrote Roman constantly pining over Emilee refreshing. It was a nice change of pace to see the MMC going crazy with his feelings and not knowing what to do or how to act. His constant struggle to get revenge or get the girl left you wondering just what he was going to do.

The only thing I wish there was more of is steamy scenes. The spice that was in the book was good, though sometimes a bit over the top…or maybe I’m just jealous haha!

Not only does this book have great characters, great world building, and amazing one liners like: “...whoever said guns were deadly clearly never met your cock” there is also some mystery. I’ve got my suspicions on the competition, but I’ll have to wait for the next one to confirm.

If you like snark, chaotic energy, dark family drama, spice and a little mystery for good measure then I highly recommend you check out “How to Lose a Psycho” by: Chelle Wolfe. It just dropped today. Go check it out!!

I started this Cracked Not Broken series a while ago and finished the first 2 books, took a break, then came back to finish the last two. The first two were good but something about Roman and Emilee is just scratching an itch I needed right now.

With Emilee’s dad missing from the picture, she’s gotta show the “big boys” that she can step up and take over in his absence and not be walked on. Her cousin Parks tries to help her gain that momentum when all she wants to do is be free, be herself, now that she’s no longer under daddy’s control.
Roman makes it his mission to ruin the Rossi family (Emilee’s new empire) as revenge for his father. Making somewhat sneaky moves to try to gain control. That is, until Emilee gets under him and his skin in all the best ways.

I’m not gonna lie, at first I thought I was going to have a hard time getting into this storyline since it was a shift from Parks and Halle in the first 2 books. But I was wrong. I liked that Emilee had some rough edges with no shame in who she was considering she’d been basically held prisoner by her dad for so long in different ways. There’s a couple things I’ve got predicted for Toxic Things I Love About You and I’m curious to see if they play out the way I’m thinking based off some things said by Roman’s brother. IMO I liked the spicy scenes because they were easy to picture without crazy positions and descriptions. (Let’s just say there were times I wouldn’t be sad if I switched spots with Emilee lmao). I’m also so thankful to the author for not using weird words during those scenes because some books try to change it up and just make it cringy sounding instead. As soon as I finished this one I INSTANTLY had to run and download the next one.

My personal suggestion, take a chance on this one if you like mafia style story with some hot spice added.

It‘s book 3 from the „Cracked Not Broken“ series, but you can read it without having read the other books.

If you like sassy, strong-willed, slightly unstable heroines, this is the book for you! I read this book in one sitting, it was so good I just couldn't put it down.

The story begins with Emily, the queen of the pink power suit. We learn that her father recently disappeared and she now attends board meetings to get to know the family business. Emilee has been strong-willed from the start and refuses to be caged, she wants to spread her wings and fly.

Then we have Roman, a smart, calculating businessman who wages a vendetta against Emily's family. Roman is looking for an opportunity for revenge and feels he will get his chance as long as Emily's father is out of the picture.

Once Emily and Roman meet their chemistry was undeniable. I found the way the author wrote Roman constantly pining for Emily refreshing. It was a nice change to see MMC going crazy with her emotions and not knowing what to do or how to behave. He is constantly struggling with his feelings. Not knowing wether to get revenge or to get the girl, making you wonder what he's going to do.

The only thing I wished there were more of was the steamy scenes. The spice in the book is nice, maybe a little over the top at times...or maybe I'm just jealous…..

Not only does this book have great characters, great world building, and amazing lines like, "...whoever said guns are deadly has obviously never seen your dick," it also has some secrets. I have my doubts about the competition, but I'll have to wait for the next book to confirm it.

If you like snark, chaotic energy, dark family drama, spice and a bit of mystery then I highly recommend checking out „How to Lose a Psycho“.

Okay wow! This was one crazy rollercoaster of a book - both mcs were definitely psycho (I guess that goes with the mafia territory) but it was crazy fun at the same time! Roman was seriously awesome (and obsessed with Emilee without admitting it to himself) but it was Emilee who I really loved...psycho but funny girl woman who was unapologetically her own stabby self! I loved it - definitely lots of suspension of disbelief, but in the best of ways. More, now, please!.

Ahhh that ended too soon

OK so I'm glad I waited for the 4th book to be out before I started these because I wasn't ready for that end. Kind of a cliffhanger aye? Lol
So I already liked Halle and Emilee, this just makes me like Emilee even more! And Parks good lord the man should have more faith in Em. Rome may have set out in one direction but their crossing was fated and I wouldn't be convinced otherwise. I may have consumed this in just a matter of hours but I didn't want to put it down. Kinda gives a new twist on Romeo and Juliet. I dig it!

Contains both books- How to lose a psycho and Toxic things i loce about you- Emilee is determined to prove her self as head of the family despite the troubles she's faced. Roman is drawn to her, despite his plan for revenge and wanting her company, but the troubles keep coming will there ever be a time of peace? Or wil revenge always ne in Romans mind? Well written engaging dark read, enemies to lovers, possesives obsessions and more!.

Yes yes yes!! So unexpected and such fantabulous writing. I’m new to Chelle Wolfes books and damn I’m impressed. I was expecting a bit more twisted darkness but happily the author took the story to the edge of my comfort zone and no further - for those with triggers though - read your warnings as it’s not vanilla in here!.

I read the first two and absolutely loved them. But I read them months ago and really had forgotten the story flow and perspectives and writing style. This was just exquisite. The witty banter, the twisty mindsets, and the plot was just right. I had to write this immediately so I can't start the next book!

Spiciness: 🌶️🌶️
Romance: ❤️❤️

Loved some parts, but this book is in DESPERATE need of an editor. Spelling errors (ex: marred instead of married), wrong words (ex: you’re instead of your… really?!), sentences with the wrong verb tense, and some sentences and details that just came out of left field or didn’t make sense.

A dark mafia romance is always a good book to read but I will say it wasn’t my favorite. Just the way the main character was at times was a bit childish, she did kill her dad and some people but it was more her speech and how she didn’t know what she wanted but at the same time wanted people to take her serious.

She is absolutely crazy and I love her for it. The ending was infuriating though, like, I was manic-laughing during those last 5 pages.
