Courage County Curves #3

Sold to the Mountain Man

Rate this book
Escaping seemed like a smart idea at the time…until I find myself sold to the mountain man.

Trace

The last thing I expected when I peered into the rust bucket filled with scrap metal was a little slip of a thing staring back at me. But when she mouthed at me to keep quiet, I did the only thing I could think of. I bought the whole vehicle, even the little runaway.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with her. I can’t send her back to the world she came from. But she can’t stay here in my cabin, making it feel like a home and filling my mind with filthy thoughts. Besides, I’m too rough and too old for a sweet thing like her.

Molly

I didn’t think through my escape from the tower. I only knew I had to get away from the arranged marriage. I never expected that hitching a ride would end with me being sold to a rough mountain man.

Trace isn’t anything like he looks. I thought he’d be mean and cruel but he’s kind and thoughtful. The least I can do to thank him is make his little rundown cabin feel more like a home. Then I’ll be on my way. Except that when I try to go, he won’t let me leave. Could it be this rough mountain man has feelings for me too?

If you love a determined alpha male with a protective streak and a big heart, it’s time to meet Trace in Sold to the Mountain Man.

Courage County mountain men love curves! These flannel-wearing, wood-cutting lumberjack men are gruff and grumpy. But underneath it all, they have hearts of gold just waiting to be uncovered by the curvy women they claim. Cuddle up with these sexy new book boyfriends from Mia Brody today!

Trace lives secluded on a mountain away from his family and his crippling past. He is a successful welder, but a hermit too. One day he buys metal from a few guys, he not only purchased metal, but a woman too. Molly is on the run from her mafia father that wants to marry her off. They fall hard and fast for each other, but their past threatens their HEA. But Trace won't give up and protect his woman. 🥰Instalove, sweet, steamy, romantic, bittersweet and totally safe (I freaking love dual virgins 🥰🥰) with a sweet HEA😍😍😍😍

Not keen on plot devices that are far fetched. Her dad is a feared mafia don and Trace’s buddy shoots him with an arrow out of nowhere when don dad shows up to get his runaway daughter. Trace walks over to him after the don says to his men not to shoot. Trace says something to him that we don’t hear and the father is like, okay, you can have her. He gets in his vehicle and leaves. Where’s that eye roll emoji? 🙄 What did Trace say to make the don back down?
This scene is outlandish and definitely not a happening thing in the organized crime world. It took me out of the story after wondering how the dangerous dad was going to be handled.
There were a few other scenes that were awkward.
I liked the MCs. An alpha male who is a smitten kitten is always fun. Molly was a nice h. The final scene with the reveal could have been better written.
I’m on a roll with these formulaic MFs. Easy and quick to read, but am heading back to MM world.

Another quick easy read book! I enjoyed it! I expected a little more towards the end and was waiting to find out what Trace said to Molly dad but all together not a bad book! Would have liked more if we got more on Molly back story but for a short story still decent!

Plot Summary:
In Mia Brody's "Sold to the Mountain Man," we're introduced to Trace, a rugged metal artist living a solitary life in Courage County. Upon purchasing a truckload of scrap metal, he discovers Molly, a young woman hiding among the junk. As Trace learns about Molly's troubled past and her escape from her dangerous father, he vows to protect her at all costs. Together, they navigate their budding romance amidst the backdrop of Courage County's close-knit community and the looming threat of Molly's past catching up with her.

Content Warnings:
This book contains themes of abuse, parental neglect, and organized crime, which may be triggering for some readers.

What I Like:
Brody's portrayal of Trace as a compassionate and protective hero is both heartwarming and captivating. The chemistry between Trace and Molly sizzles on the page, drawing readers into their tumultuous journey towards love and safety. Additionally, Brody's vivid descriptions of Trace's metalworking artistry and Molly's clay sculptures immerse the reader in the creative world of the characters.

What I Dislike:
While the quick pace of the romance adds excitement to the narrative, I find it lacking in depth, particularly regarding the resolution of Molly's conflict with her father.

Overall, "Sold to the Mountain Man" delivers an engaging romance filled with suspense, passion, and a strong sense of community. Fans of steamy age-gap romances with a dash of danger will find themselves thoroughly entertained by Mia Brody's latest installment in the Courage County Curves series.

*spoilers* Trace, who is a metal welder, is looking to buy a rust bucket old car filled with junk and scrap metal, but the sellers are shifty. When he sees a girl in the car asking silently for his help, he buys himself a woman. He has his own not so nice past, which made him get away as a teenager and live the reclusive life for the last twenty years. In his a little akward but sweet way he tries to reassure her. Somehow he feels a connection, wanting to protect her, not understanding his own strong reactions. Molly is surprised by the gentleness of this gruff looking mountain man. His caring attitude towards his cat princess make her trust eenough to go to his cabin. Somehow it feels like home. When helping him to earn some money, she discovers his art, being an artist with clay herself, they are more alike and in tune, than she thought. She ran away from a controling rich father and arranged marriage. She is afraid to reveal who she really is to Trace. Not daring to hope for more Trace offers her an arrangement where she does the housekeeping, so she stays for a while. But he he is determined to protect her and when they learn more about each other, they become one. Trace is determined to protect her.
Trace and Molly have such a deep understanding and feeling for each other, it is really heartwarming. It was fitting that she sees him as her bearded angel and he knew why he created the sculpture, like it was mde for her, a strong woman with a dragonheart.

Trace is a Mountain Man, a metal welder, and he creates complex and beautiful art pieces for businesses and collectors. So he buys up junk metal and appliances and strips it of the different metals, putting them in different piles and then bringing them to his workroom which is a few miles down the road from his home. He buys stuff from three men, a truck full of junk. He sees a young woman hiding in it and buys the whole truck and what is in it as the sellers seem to be drugged up. Trace funnels the majority of what he makes to a charity for abused kids. This just makes me love him more! After the dudes leave, he gets the girl out and offers her food. Her name is Molly. He has a cat named Princess. I love that cat! Wait until you get a load of her!

Trace is worried for her and he wants to call in Cash, his doctor mountain man buddy. But that is a no go as Molly is running from something. She is an artist too. She makes stuff from clay, fairies and villages, etc. So cool! I love stuff like that! My medium is embroidery, crocheting and jewelry making so this book was right up my alley. When he takes her to Summer’s Seize the Clay, store, I bounced on the bed. I loved Summer and her store!

Finding out about both their pasts made me so angry I literally saw red and wanted to punch something, so I killed a pillow. Lol. I love how the guys are together. Roman, Cash, Blade, Rafe, etc. When you find out who her father is. Well. It explains EVERYTHING!

I can’t wait for the next book because it is about Blade. He is awesome in this book so when he gets his own….

Fantastic Series!

I’ve loved every word of this series so far. Like Trace, the Hero of this book, the men of the series are delicious, alpha, and kind (and a bit grumpy…yum!) They have overcome tremendous obstacles and just like the women who steal their hearts, they be tattered, but their souls will never be broken.

Trace had me wrapped around his finger before the end of his first chapter. My heart ached for him, as did Molly’s, his woman, the moment she met him. Trace May have rescued her from a dangerous situation, but they each healed the other, as they got to know each other.

Trace’s steadfast, unwavering support and Molly’s sunshiny, cautious hope made for an explosive chemistry. The $exy times were hot! (You’ll never think of store dressing rooms the same way again 🔥🔥🔥)

Fantastic book! Fantastic series! I adore the diversity of all of Mis Brody’s characters, that she recognizes that all people deserve love and their very own Happily Ever Afters.
🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️ from me!

This return to Courage County was all over the place. Dual virgins were a bit awkward, but sweet. I was absolutely livid that Trace paid a dime for the devil and his ungrateful family, completely livid. No one from his family ever reached out to begin with so it was a worthless promise. Those couple of paragraphs almost ruined the whole book. Then it was really odd and random that they stopped off at a suit store so they could get it on in the dressing room just to leave and not buy anything. She couldn't just do that in the truck at the back of a parking lot? I would like to know what was said between Trace and her father as an arrow to the shoulder and a few whispered words seem highly unlikely to make a mafia don back down from something he feels he has a right to sell. I am looking forward to Blade's book and hoping it's better than this one.

Another great addition to the Courage County series. Molly hides in the back of a car to escape her father and an impending arranged marriage, this car is eventually sold as scrap to Trace. While they both had traumatic upbringings, they find a common ground in art. Their chemistry is palpable and I enjoyed the double virgin trope. I loved that they both healed each other and that Molly was such a strong force. She showed Trace that he was not his father and was indeed a very good man.

“…had to face our pasts in order to find our way to each other. We spent our lives running, not knowing we were running toward a beautiful future. One that we get to experience together.”

There were some parts that made me go hmm...like why they stopped in a suit store instead of just taking care of business in the truck but it didn't take away from the story at all. I do wish we knew what Trace said to her dad, but that's just my curious nature.

I am a fan on Mia Brody's books and have read the previous ones in this series too but somehow I could not connect with this one at first read. We have instalove, an over-the-top protective, recluse of a hero with a wounded soul and a heart of gold, a sweet and resilient heroine who knows what she wants and plenty of action here. Then I realised that while most of Ms Brody's work has OTT characters and plot lines, this one has comic book, fairytale type extra-OTT and things fell in place. So, highly recommend, if you like books that are more fairytale than real romance with real people in a real world. My only criticism is how the heroine's father's issue was dealt with. Considering the premise, it was highly unbelievable even for a comic book kind of thing. However, extra points for the cool cat and the welding art :-).

Trace and Molly’s story… sweet story

4.5 stars
I loved this story. They were meant for each other. I loved the fact that they helped each other heal from their loneliness, and from the mistreatment received in their past.

The only thing I didn’t like was that it doesn’t mention what Trace said to Molly’s dad to make him leave and free Molly. If he is a mafia boss, he wouldn’t let something simple defeat him. I wish we could’ve known what kind of promise or threat Trace gave him in order for him to retreat peacefully and not come back.

In the end, they both were abandoned by their families, but in reality they only needed each other. And they love each other deeply. I also love that their work is intertwined, and that they can work together.

I love the fact that they both are virgins and that he did his research on the Internet so he could pleasure his woman properly.

SAFE.

Big, growly mountain man, Trace, meets petite, perky runaway, Molly, and loses his heart to her in an instant. He has been where Molly is now ……scared and on the run from a life best left in the rear view mirror. He offers her safety and a place to stay, never believing for a second that she looks at him as anything other than a monster. He has kept to himself for over two decades after his escape from a life of punishment and torture. He is stunned that sweet Molly wants to touch him and have him kiss her. Once he claims her, there is no going back. Trace will do everything in his power to keep Molly, to build a future with her, even fight her demons.

This book may be short, but it packs an emotional punch. Brava Mia! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved It!!!

Mia Brody has become a favorite author of mine since I read her book Rescuer Cowboy. Her stories are so exciting, heartwarming, and some of them can even be a little bit suspenseful. She has a way of creating stories and character that feel so real, readers can’t help but immerse themselves in the stories. I have read the first two books in the Courage County Curves series and I loved them, but I think Trace and Molly’s story is by far my favorite. I laughed at their teasing and banter and cried at just how much these two people have had to go through in life to get to the people they are. I can’t wait for the next two books in the series and I really hope Roman gets his own story soon. That man deserves a happily ever after too.

I loved Sold to the Mountain Man Book 3 of Courage County Curves. Trace finds a scared Molly in a scrap car. He vows to help her. He’s extremely attracted to Molly but she’s had so much pain in her life already because of her father. Trace has had a hard life as well but he tells Molly about it. Molly hasn’t told Trace everything and tries to leave so Trace won’t get hurt. Fortunately, Trace catchers her and vows to protect her and make the situation right. These two have an amazing connection considering what they have gone through. I love the cat! I want one. I love these characters and their love story. I would definitely recommend this book.

This was such an awesome book! Mia Brody is one of my favorite authors and this book did not disappoint. All of the characters were well developed and likable. Molly is a runaway with a mysterious past that she guards ferociously. Trace is a loner on the mountain with a traumatized past as well.
When Trace first sees Molly, his protective instincts take over. Molly is hesitant to trust him but Trace is patient with her. Molly and Trace seem to be made for each other, but Molly’s past threatens their life together.
This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. This book was a fabulous short read. I read it in one sitting and enjoyed every bit of it!.

Trace was always purchasing scrap metal, what he did not plan on was seeing someone staring at him from the pile. He bought the whole thing with the cutie included. He does not know what to do with her, but it is obvious she is running from something. He has to send her on her way soon, she is giving him dirty thoughts.

Molly only thought about escape when she found out her father had plans for her that she did not want. When she first meet Trace, it is unexpected how kind he is.

Both have had little to no love in their life, but these lost souls are perfect for each other. Trace is not the only one that has a protective streak.

This is the 3rd book in the series but can be read as a standalone.

Trace lives alone in his mountain cabin, he has friends nearby, but he tries to avoid contact with others. He is an artist that works with metal, he is offered a car full of scrap from some dodgy guys and after finding Molly hidden inside the car, he buys it all.
Molly is on the run from her father and the life he wants her to live, she doesn't want to get married for a business deal so she has been on the run hiding from her father and his men.
They are attracted to each other, but will they admit their feelings before its too late.

I enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

3.5⭐

I think this books are cute and a fun time, so I find it hard to rate them poorly, but I'm sorry... What was that ending? Like, the part with her father, not the HEA. Like, what??

I know that no one is really here for the plot. But I'm sorry, I can't help that I want it to make sense.

Both the hero and heroine have difficult pasts and were unloved. The hero comes upon the heroine in an unconventional manner and must make a split decision. Fortunately, he makes the right one. This begins their journey towards knowing each other, discovering each others fears and working it all out.

Overall, I like this series. I think the heroes are unique and this hero is no different. This was a very good story.

Molly (h) runs from her past and hides herself in an old junker filled with detritus. Trace (H) goes to purchase the car and is shocked to discover Molly in the trunk. He takes her into his remote mountain home and Molly finds herself in the home she’s always wanted. Things heat up quickly between the two and when Molly’s past shows up, Trace and his mountain friends will do what they have to to protect Molly from danger. Sweet age gap, curvy girl, mountain man romantic quickie with a side of heat and a little bit of danger.

5 stars of reading pleasure.

Trace & Molly’s story is a fantastic addition to a series I am absolutely loving. They have both suffered so much in life which tugs at your heartstrings. Molly came into his life by chance & their immediate connection is undeniable. He thinks he’s too old & broken & Molly is worried her father will catch up with her. How hard are they willing to fight for love & a chance at a HEA with each other?.

I liked this novella. It's got some dark themes and was intense in moments but it made me enjoy it more I think and made me love the couple that little bit more. Plus I think anything titled with 'sold to' you can expect a few dark themes. This book as expected is very spicy and them both being virgins was very sweet. I love how they both help each other grow and develop and overcome past traumas. Overall a great novella which is to be expected since I thoroughly enjoyed the others in the series.

Trace is a metal welder who makes sculptures. A group of men bring a car full of junk to his house to sell him. When he sees a woman hiding in the boot of the car he takes the whole car off their hands. Molly is running from her mafia boss father who is trying to marry her off. She hides in the boot of a car and ends up at Trace’s cabin. Sweet, steamy romance with amazing chemistry, a little danger, love, romance, a loving caring, protective hero and a beautiful HEA.

I really enjoyed reading Trace and Molly's story. I thought the way these two characters met was original. I loved how strong, empathetic and loving Trace was to Molly's situation. He took his time with her and didn't rush them into anything romantic until she was ready. I thought Molly was a strong character as well given her situation with her family. I think I would have liked a little more drama bergen her father and Trace but feel that the story ended nicely. I would recommend.

Molly is running away from her father and the life he has planned for her. Trace is escaping from his past while surviving day to day.

When Trace goes to buys a load of scrapes, he gets more than he expected when he sees Molly hiding. This quick read has layers of emotional bags that have been weighing down both of them. Together they are to find their happiness.

Great read that takes your heart on an emotional ride. The love and passion explode off the page.

Trace is a welder and about to buy some junk metal from some shifty looking guys when he notices a pair of scared eyes hiding in amongst the junk. Molly took a chance by climbing into the rickety car on a flatbed headed out of town. Now she’s faced with a growly mountain man and she wonders if she’s in more trouble then she was. This was a heartbreaking story with two wounded people having to face their pasts in order to find a future together. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A heartfelt addition to this series. Two people who have traumatic pasts journey to healing and love. This quote from the story sums it up “…had to face our pasts in order to find our way to each other. We spent our lives running, not knowing we were running toward a beautiful future. One that we get to experience together.” A bit of drama, chemistry galore, and mountain men loyalty lead to a HEA.
