This book stood out to me for a couple of reasons. The bright colors within the illustrations first caught my eye then upon further investigation, I found it had quite a few low ratings on Goodreads. It threw me off guard because the title in addition with the cover give the impression it would be chaotic and keep readers on their toes. After reading it myself, I did find it a bit disappointing as an adult. There was no storyline besides a nuclear family going to an ‘animal mall’. The book did not seem to provide mirrors, windows, or sliding doors into this world. HOWEVER, I believe for a young child this could be a nice read. Especially for students who may become disinterested in reading or may not have the strongest reading skills. Each line, either back to back or every other line rhymes with one another. Each character (besides the main family) is an animal and owns a shop in the mall.
