Sun. Sand. Sex. Icaria has it all and Kent is taking advantage of every single bit of it. His holiday passes in a blur of bright days and hot men until he meets the man who rules them all. Stavros Laskaris owns most of Icaria and when Kent catches his attention, he becomes one more thing to posses.
The hot Greek summer vacation takes a dark turn when it turns out that Stavros isn't planning on letting him leave Icaria. From sexual confidante to prisoner of a man beyond the law – even the laws of nature, Kent find himself in a whole new world, a world where he is bound to a man who forces him to recognize his true nature and wolf form. Kent must learn to submit to his alpha, or pay the price for being a disobedient whelp.
Sov Skaars honors the beast in all of us with fast-paced, plot-driven romantic shifter stories. Sov's primary shifter series, The Wolves of Icaria, follows the fortunes of a pack of stray wolf shifters united under a powerful Greek alpha.
3.5......4.... Hmmmmm. I guess I'm still a little intrigued. Not really sure how to rate, review, comment on this story just yet. Couple of things puzzled me. The kidnapping....the I Hate you, now I Love you ..... BUT! Sigh.....I Reeeeeeeally would like to see where the author goes with this world. I'm a shifter fanatic, I'll definitely read book 2 when it's released with the hope that the author digs in deeper with the MC's. As soon as the emotions where RIGHT THERE, the narrative switched! Left me hanging a bit most of the time. I would love to read some other reviews on this book. Not familiar with this author, but like I said......I'll give the author another try. To many other minor characters were introduced or hinted at, so maybe their stories will tie this series together.
This was just so adorable. Alpha Shifter Stavros sees Kent in his club and knows he has found his mate. Kent of course has no idea what was going on. All he knows is he was detained in the airport, threatened with jail w/o a lawyer, and held hostage in an estate w/o his passport and money. God knows what the man has in store for you-- perhaps a sex slave, torture victim etc.
Kents reaction and antics were understandable as he fights for his life and attempts escape. Towards the end his petty means of revenge are outright hilarious.
I look forward to the rest of the series and hope to read Nestor or Jason's story next.
THREE & A HALF STARS--A surprisingly good M/M werewolf shifter short story with snappy dialogue of a tried and true theme (on vacation, boy (Kent)catches eye of possessive alpha and alpha pulls all stops to make the boy his) but the way the alpha(Stavros) went about was a little more unique. I like the ideas the author has and can see the set up for the next two parts which I will definitely be reading). I loved Kent fighting the 'claiming' and 'change'. He's mouthy & I loved it. It made a juicier story in my opinion. Looking forward to this author's future work.
This is good but short. To be honest before reading this I thought gay shifters had been done to death, but this book shows that there is room for more. I hope that the sequels are equally as good.
3.5 stars cuz I low-key liking it and can't tear my face from between the pages. It could have been 3 stars for some odd choice of words and plot. I think some of the scenes are skipped. I feel disjointed while reading it.
Kent, the MC is a feisty whelp. I like em badass, stubborn and willful, giving their dominant lover a run for their money. I do love some fire in the submissive partner and a physically smaller lover for the alpha. Can't go wrong with that for me.
If you want a slow burn romance and a strong-romantic foundation, don't get your hopes up for this one. Here you get it in the form of whiplash so fast and logic-defying that you don't know what and how it hits you. I am rather biased when I say I like it well enough as parts of it do tickle my fancy.
Okay, I am off to book number 2 now. I think this series has like 11 books in total. Let's see how long I could hang on.

P/S: It has been ages since I last finished an English book. I picked this for the superbly low word count. I am hoping it would restart my reading engine. ;)
I just.. can't. The language is SO bad. Repetitive, horrible sentence structure, the use of wrong words for what he actually ment. It's just embarrassingly bad.
And unreadable. It made me angry, honestly. I don't know if it got better, because I didn't get very far, until the top of my head blew off with impatience.
I'm no poet, and I certainly don't have a scholarly standard for my books. But they have to be written at least competently. Maybe the smex would have made up for it, but I didn't get that far.
This isn't even DNF, it's so horrible, that it goes on my DNFF "did-not-fucking-finish."
> jumbled mess. >Needs a better framework. >Involves confusion, unorganized plot, few inner dialogues, scenes not finished properly >whole hierarchy of the wolves is not stated thoroughly, >MC's are confusing and annoying as hell >the leap between the scenes is disconcerting, its like a series of unconnected scenes melded together >the whole book screams in-coherency and lacks a solid draft. >It needs improvement, too much improvement.
The positives of this book lies in >it's stupidity, >it's light subject matter, >short word limit, >trashiness and no need of using the brain. > If you're in a mood for a quick read and your brain is being lazy but it still needs a book then go for this. It will not disappoint.
Grammatically it was correct and decently edited, but the story was a little unbalanced. The build-up and 'captivity' was fine, but there was no time spent on the 'shift' in his attitude (pun intended ha). There was some internal examination but it was such a tiny amount. I felt like a third or more of the story was missing by the end.
3.5 to 4 stars. Interesting local to be set in Greece. Too short to really understand the world or how the two MCs will really turn out. Normally I think of werewolves needing a forest to roam and exercise their wolf, not here at least in this book. The book was also too short to really believe in the love that was expressed at the end.
I wasn't a huge fan of this book. not that it wasn't written well, the character just were not really likeable for me I wanted for smack the whelp for Pretty much the whole book. I just couldn't get in to their story or relationship.
While I only gave this 2 stars, it was very well written. I just didn't think it had enough girth for me. The characters were okay but just didn't pull me in like I would have liked. I am curious as to where book 2 takes it.
I liked this story and I know it is a continuing series, so I am definitely going to see where this goes. You can definitely understand Kent reluctance to change. It can not be an easy thing to accept but in all stories love will see you through it all.
Not sure how to rate. I'm interested in the world...but I wouldn't exactly say this was a hit for me. But I am intrigued. The kidnapping part thew me off a little. But...it interesting. I'd like to know more about how Kent could not know he was a shifter. Defendant want to know more about the pack. I think I need to read another one, before I really make up my mind.
