The world famous model and TV personality and her husband describe their long and difficult battle with the crippling effects of Phillip's clinical depression, the ECT that eventually brought him relief after years of struggle, and the ways in which their joint ordeal brought them closer together.
I had to give up on this one, sadly. There are very few books (almost none) on dealing with a spouse's depression, so I latched onto this one. I actually have tried to read it about four times, and only got significantly into it this time. Sadly, I found out that the couple writing the book did eventually get divorced, and that kind of ruined it for me. (that and repeated descriptions of the husband's penile pain. Eesh.)
This was a personal story for Emme and her husband dealing with his physical illness that never seemed to get diagnosed and caused him to spiral into a deep depression. It shares both sides of the coin and how each of them coped with this struggle. I think it helps to give hope to anyone who may be feeling those struggles to know that you're not alone and that it can be overcome.
